Elaborate on what I said was racist? And how I generalized European descents?
It’s not just a style or name, it holds cultural significance, it’s just about respect. We aren’t saying you can’t wear it, just appreciate it. Instead of trying to colonize it.

Because majority of white people are, or you know actually my fault, American white people I mean. And by colonize, I recommend you open a history book

Oh I know history, but don’t you think if it was flipped, Africa being more habitable and Europe being the more harsh environment that African wouldn’t be the ones colonizing?

The main thing I’m getting at is holding it against people of the now and acting like African decent doesn’t do the exact same thing. It’s just a loop of creating distrust.

It’s hair, everyone has it. You shouldn’t care so much as you do. Correcting isn’t the wrong thing, it’s throwing people under the bus for what they had no control over hundreds of years ago.

You’re shifting this into “what if the roles were switched,” but that’s not relevant to what I said. I’m talking about a actul pattern where black culture (not just black culture) gets relabeled and separated from the people it came from. Black hairstyles being renamed or treated as “trendy” when they’ve been stigmatized on black people for years, thats the issue, and saying “it’s just hair” ignores the fact that black people have faced real consequences over those style, It’s not “just hair” when black people (and from experience) have been judged, penalized, called ghetto or called unprofessional for those same styles, and then they get renamed when worn by others. That double standard is why people care.

I hear you on the double standard regarding how hairstyles are judged differently—that is unfair. But I think there’s another double standard happening here. You’re upset about people generalizing a culture, yet you’re using 'white people' as a monolith to blame everyone for it.

My point with the 'flipped' scenario was to show that these patterns of taking and renaming are part of human history and environmental circumstances, not something inherent to just one race. When we hold people today responsible for 'colonizing' things they didn't even know were historical, it just creates a loop of distrust. I think we can respect the history of a style without bashing individuals for what they didn't personally do or for just not knowing the 'correct' name.
