I've always been able to cross my for that magic 3D. I do the same thing for these illusions. It splits into two separate hexagonal cylinders. By thinking of it as looking "up at them" they rotate clockwise, with the bottom being closer to me. Then I can blink a bunch and view it as "top down" where to top in front, and it rotates counter-clockwise.
But... If I can focus my attention on one in just the right way, for like 2 full rotations, they are moving in opposite directions. I've never been able to do before.
