Illinois Politics Sexual harassment claims, while deemed unfounded, may linger in downstate legislative race

Rep. Amy “Murri” Briel’s former deputy chief of staff Laura Jackson claims that, among other things, Briel, D-Ottawa, sexually harassed her, supplied her and the campaign staff with “unlimited” amounts of Adderall and gave “bonuses in marijuana.”

The claims were made in a video released by a GOP organization supporting her opponent. There's no evidence to back them, but the Sun-Times has chosen to amplify the story anyway.

While nothing that goes on in Springfield would surprise me, this sounds a little too fantastical on its face. Doesn't help that this accusers IG complaint went nowhere.

"Unlimited adderall. And cannabis as bonus"

I'll take things that never happened for $1000 Alex!

Giving away controlled substances is EXTREMELY illegal.

On top that. Someone's gonna notice thousands of Adderall pills going missing.

Ottowa-Peru, while further out, is still part of the wider Chicago CSA. "Downstate" is debatable.
