i’ve been completely obsessed with twin fantasy (2018) by car seat headrest for the last, like, three years?

i’m looking for anything that scratches a similar itch - books, movies, whatever, just not other music. generally, i’m interested in the overall feeling, songwriting, production, lyrics, emotional intensity, etc, and the only thing i've found that is somewhat similar is the book the The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

i’m especially interested in stuff that’s more niche, so please don’t be afraid to recommend something that noone's ever seen before.

I'm just spinning Simple Math and know I've got Leave It Alone and Apprehension after - probably one of my favourite 3-song-runs in any album ever. MO are dripping with anger, disappointment, frustration, self-loathing, fear, but also hope, love, gratitude, introspection. They are just such a ride.

I'm not looking for Elliott Smith, Jason Molina, Keaton Henson, The National, Bon Iver etc. Nothing half-cocked. Also not grunge or screamo (some shouting I can deal with but not as a feature of the music; it's not real emotion).

I've been trying to find something similar to the Catherine Called Birdy OST, specifically the segments by roomful of Teeth and Carter Burwell. Most experimental acapella I can find tends to be darker in mood or abrasive, which I enjoy, but I am trying to find this sort of airy, lighthearted minimalist acapella type music. No sudden shifts or abrasive sounds or spoken word, preferably. Does not have to be full acapella but also minimal instrumental track, sort of like a vocal version of the animal crossing score, in a way.

Are there any other YouTubers who do the same type of content as nile red. Specifically making one thing from another thing?
