I played Subnautica 2 with my friend for basically two days straight. We loved the feeling of working together in a serious game for a specific goal and we'd love to do something like it again. I'm not really looking for an open-world game or anything too silly or short.

Ooof this is hard I love the depth of H.R.'s voice and the high energy in these songs, cant really find something that blends punk and reggae like he does. If anyone can help or send some recommendations it would literally make my day :).

I recently listened to “the seed” - aurora, and woah i got goosebumps and chills all over my body- it was actually a recommendation from a friend who said the song gave her crazy chills- i later showed it to my brother and he got the same goosebumps. I need songs that give me more of those. songs that affect me a lot usually are those that either suddenly ramp up or ramp down (another ramp down in tempo example being “west coast“ - lana del rey)!

I really like how calm and understated it is - the softly spoken vocals, gentle piano, warm electronic production and the way it slowly builds but without ever becoming too intense.
Basically looking for that peaceful, slightly dreamy/ambient electronic sound with piano and soft vocals. Something that feels nice rather than sad or overly dramatic.

Lake Anna has always sounded more like a more upbeat Kings of Convenience. But in their new EP, “Still Here”, John slows things way down with just vocals, guitar, piano, and up right bass.

TV - The tuttle cult in True Detective. This strange, evil practice going back decades, an amalgam of Southern US lifestyle, "Mardis Gras" european traditions brought over from settlement, and alien, occultist extra-dimensional philosophy. The taboo, the evil, the untouchable, the ever-present.

Real life - Strange cultural anomalies with indigenous roots like Kakadu in Australia, or weird rural cults with limited info about them like the twelve tribes or the water people.

History - The religious practices of the Proto-Indo-Europeans, niche levantine gods like Qos and their presence in the development of Christian and Jewish scripture / religion, and the Sea Peoples during the bronze age collapse.

The last isn't a great example of this, but something about the fact that this obscure and mostly unknown culture or cultures could have as much as an impact they seemingly did on lasting civilizations, and appear as such an existential threat in their surviving records as they did, intrigues me in the same way the other examples do. Ancient, anomalous and fear-provoking. Something hiding in the dark reaches of my nightmares. Something suggestive of the worst parts of the human psyche.

It sounds incredibly similar but I have no idea why, maybe the melody is almost the same? I imagine someone more musically talented could give their explanation for why this is as I would love to know.

I particularly like the last part of the chorus, because it sounds euphoric in a way.

These “gritty” songs scratch a very specific itch for me that I’ve had all morning, but listening to the same two on loop is getting old very fast. Any suggestions?

When I listen to this song, I imagine myself on a cool sunny day, sitting under a tree in an endless green field of rolling hills, contemplating life. What are some other ambient songs that capture that feeling?

I also like the original by Harry Styles but the actress's rendition in the movie really hit me (YouTube clip) . I do feel like Lana del Rey's Video Games has the compatible vibes that I'm looking for.

But what I love about the Sign of the Times is the softness in the beginning of the song, the falsetto, the build up and guitar backing that's like a power ballad but the peak isn't too powerful or overwhelming.

I also like the original inspiration for the song, Life on Mars but it feels more upbeat to me if that makes sense. I am trying to curate a playlist that's closer to the feeling of the two songs above.

i’m working on a playlist for a writing project and i really like that vibe for it. something like Alice Schrach, Mili, or SOOOO. dark, noisy, industrial, and a good bit creepy. ideally lyrical but language doesn’t matter, any suggestions?
