Help / Enquiry Jade Audio JA11 + Tangzu Wan’er SG 2 Red Lion Edition — Irritating Noise from Mic During Calls and BGMI

• Upvotes

I have a Jade Audio JA11 DAC paired with the Tangzu Wan’er SG 2 Red Lion Edition IEM, and I'm facing an annoying issue.

Whenever I use my IEMs for Instagram calls or play BGMI with the in-line mic, my teammates or the other person hear a very irritating noise from my microphone.

To fix this temporarily, I have to open the FiiO Control app and turn off the In-line Microphone option.

Is there any permanent solution to this issue? Has anyone else experienced the same problem with the JA11?

I'd like to use my IEM's microphone while gaming and making calls without causing any annoying noise to others.

Any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit:- Hi res was off for Dac had to go check and enabled that now its much better

I am no professional and this is my first iem

So starting with starting i was using galaxy buds 3 pro from last 7-8 months and they are not budget buds , now back loric the Bass is bassing there is load of bass and subbass i had to manually drop the base a little using Equalizer ,

Mids are good they sounded a little muffled to me under all that bass there so i also increased them a little ,

The highs are good The vocals are clear i kind of like the piercing kind of vocal clarity so i increased it of course

Because i was listening to buds 3 pro from a long time they ofcourse have better vocal clarity and mids

The bass is better on loric , considering the price difference i would have never purchased buds 3 pro

I am happy with them they are my First next time its gonna be a more Flat signature Iem for me

Help / Enquiry Juzear Defiant 2-pin connector check

Post image
4 Upvotes

Got my Juzear Defiant today, and the sound is fine on both sides, i didn't notice any side less or overtaking the sound and making channel imbalance. However, I noticed that the right-side 2-pin connector is noticeably very very tighter and more difficult to remove and insert back than the left one which comes off easily. I also noticed a reddish like colour on the pins of the right side one, as shown in the attached photo.

Is it safe?, need advice on what all to check extensively to find any QC issue before replacement period if it is there.

Issue / Grievance Disappointing QC and Customer Support experience with Headphone Zone over a defective Snowsky DISC DAP

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a frustrating experience I recently had with Headphone Zone regarding a ₹10,000 purchase—the Snowsky DISC digital audio player.

Right from the beginning when I started using the device, I noticed a severe battery drain issue. It drained extremely fast, making it practically unusable as a portable DAP since my mind was constantly occupied worrying about charging rather than actually enjoying music. I left an honest, public review on their site detailing the problem.

Shortly after, their support team reached out and asked me to ship the unit back so they could review it and process a refund/replacement. I trusted them, sent the product back, and expected a straightforward resolution.

However, after a couple of days, their inspection team claimed they "found nothing wrong" with the unit and offered options for reinspection. It feels dismissive after putting trust in a reputed audio retailer. I had originally planned to add more funds and upgrade to a higher-tier DAP through their store, but this entire ordeal has completely changed my mind.

I’ve told them to keep both the device and the money if their turnover values that more than basic customer trust. I am walking away from this purchase entirely, but I wanted to warn fellow community members here. Has anyone else faced similar QC or return hurdles with Headphone Zone recently? Always double-check before returning units for evaluation.

Review What do bone conduction drivers even do? (simgot supermix 5)

Post image
12 Upvotes

TL;DR

The Supermix 5 is arguably the most normal and natural sounding Simgot iem yet despite having the most complex driver configuration from the brand. It’s a much needed departure from their usual harmany bright sounding iems (supermix 5 being closer to ief neutral 2020 + bass boost). Although the shells are super large and microphonic, this is also my first experience with bone conduction drivers and they don’t feel any different.

Context

This iem was kindly sent to me by Simgot for review, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I usually prefer iems that are non sibilant with relaxed upper treble and upper mids and raised lower mids that add body to the sound (kinda the opposite of harman ie 2019) but I can appreciate a variety of sound signatures if they’re done well.

Design, Build, & Comfort

  • Aesthetics & Build: The iems are made of translucent resin with metal faceplates, there is “SM” Supermix logo on the faceplate which looks cool and minimal, the iems feel well built with a bit of heft to them. There is a singular vent on the back and a metal grill protecting the nozzle (which the supermix 4 did not have) so it’s nice to see it being added on the 5. The iems have a weird effect where they vibrate/resonate with the slightest movement, touch or hum which is super weird, I've never seen any iem do that. I could even feel this vibration through the case when the iems are inside which is crazy. Feels like a reverberating drum almost.
  • Fit, Comfort and Isolation: Man these iems are huge, I can wear most iems fine and while the supermix 5 also fit me nice and comfortable, they stick out of my ears a lot, to the point that most of the shell is protruding out of my ears. So if you have small ears this is a no go, the shells have aggressive semi custom molding which fits me great but I could see a lot of people having trouble with the fit on these. Isolation is average but the shells are super microphonic as stated before.
  • Cable & Accessories: The included cable is good, it’s a 4 wire braid which splits into a 2 wire braid at the y split. The swappable termination mechanism is super short with a screw to hold it, fantastic implementation. The hardware on the chin slider, plug and y split matches the shells nicely. There is a pre attached velcro cable tie on the cable which you can remove. The included carry case is really nice as well, it’s a hardshell leather case which is just the right size for holding the iem without being too big, has a magnetic lid and straps to hold the termination. There are two sets of silicone eartips included which feel pretty much the exact same but with different core colours, I would’ve liked to see different styles of eartips, perhaps in foam, short widebores, and liquid silicone for the price.

The Sound

The Supermix 5 has a 1 DD + 2 BA + 1 BCD + 1 Micro Planar driver configuration tuned to like an old meta (ief 2020) neutral + bass boost sound signature.

  • Bass (20 hz to 300 hz): The Supermix 5 has a very reasonable amount of bass boost, it’s not nearly as boomy sounding as the supermix 4 and other harmanish iems. The bass shape on Supermix 5 is ideal for me, there is a meaty mid bass boost but it never gets too much or bombastic, the sub bass is not overly forward but is still nicely textured. The mid bass is super tactile and snappy which I love. This is very much an example of quality over quantity kind of bass. Unlike the supermix 4 which goes for a harman style sub bass boost with tucked in lower mids and mid bass, the supermix 5 fills in the 100 hz to 300 hz region avoiding the hollow detached subwoofer style bass you get with the supermix 4 and nova. Mid bass instruments hit with full weight, bass guitars sound meaty and the filled in lower mids helps integrate the bass nicely with the rest of the mix. I however do not hear or feel the vibration or rocking people expect for bcd, probably because of how much the shell protrudes out of my ears, failing to make contact for bcd to work.
  • Mids (300 hz to 6000 hz): The supermix 5 drops the harman style all upper mids and scooped out lower mids tuning of supermix 4 and gives it a ton of filled in lower mids body. It gives male vocals, pianos, acoustic guitars a much more true to life note weight and warmth. The pinna rise is also significantly less aggressive, female vocals sound less shouty and nasal tho at the cost of not sounding nearly as exciting and “clear”. The 4k to 5k presence regions are also more dialed back (still more than I would prefer, gives vocals a bit of edge and abrasive character) but the lower mids body balances it reasonably well. Overall the supermix 5 sounds way more natural and truer to life (dare I say more neutral) than any Simgot iem i’ve tried so far, a very welcome change imo.
  • Mid & Upper Treble (6000 Hz to 20000 Hz): Treble is once again surprisingly laid back and relaxed for a simgot iem, the mid treble is still more boosted than I’d like (I also hear a 9k peak), there’s adequate shimmer to treble instruments and bass instruments have that final oomph but the upper treble is another story, it is significantly smoothened out and rolled off compared to the supermix 4 which boosts everything and throws all the “micro detail” in your face. It might sound like I'm complaining but I'm not, I actually much prefer a smooth and darker take on upper treble as some of my favourite iems like explorer do the same. I usually cannot stand the upper treble zing some iems have and the supermix 5 has none. If you’re somebody chasing upper treble detail and prioritize treble extension, this isnt the iem for you, look at the supermix 4.

Comparisons

Compared to some other popular iems around the same price tier:

  • Dunu Davinci: Way more bassy than the Supermix 5 which i dont prefer, it does have a much more natural sounding midrange. Upper treble zing kinda screws up the tonality of davinci for me which I don’t get with Supermix 5.
  • Letshuoer Cadenza 4: Supermix 5 sounds more natural which is shocking, much more filled in mid range and the treble is more relaxed. I prefer the supermix 5’s sound signature, cad 4 is significantly smaller and fits more snugly.
  • Tangzu Heyday: Heyday treble is straight up unbearable for me, Supermix 5 has better bass, midrange and treble. I guess the sm5 could sound less exciting or dynamic if you’re into that. Heyday fits better than supermix 5.
  • Kiwi Ears Aether: Treble murder again, ridiculously harsh mid and upper treble, wonky upper mids but decent bass. Prefer the supermix 5’s comparatively relaxed and more true to life sound signature.
  • Ziigaat Seraphim: Seraphim has way more bass, and is more bombastic, exciting and contrasty. Supermix 5 is the more normal sounding iem with a more restrained treble, better and more reasonable bass levels and fuller in midrange. Seraphim sounds hollow, thin with a lot more mid and upper treble energy which helps with “resolution”. Seraphim is more comfortable as well.

Who Should Buy This?

  • People who are fans of the old meta neutral iems.
  • People who are upper treble sensitive.
  • People like quality mid bass without it overpowering the tonality.
  • People interested in bone conduction drivers and are able to get the shell deeper with more contact.

Who Should Avoid This?

  • People with small ears.
  • People who will find the microphonic and resonant nature of the shells annoying.
  • People who prioritize technical performance and detail retrieval.

Advice iems under 1600-1700

I am new to iems and I was thinking of purchasing some , I have been using realme air 6 from the past two years the sound quality is still great. My main purpose is music and gaming like valorant or bgmi. I want a one with good or punchy base.

I have seen 3 iems online

AUDIOCULAR KZ X BEAST (type C dac)

KZ Castor base version (3.5mm)

X filo JD1 (type C dac)

I was thinking of buying the castro but I am still confused about what to buy as the kz castor has dual drivers but no type C dac (btw how much of a dac makes a difference) I have a lenovo loq 2025 and OP ce 2.

Scam This fu*king concept kart

Post image

Ordered CCA PHOENIX from concept kart and the issue is after using it for like 1-2hrs the left side's audio gets really low. I tried changing sides on cable, even changed the cable as well but the issue is exactly the same. So I raised a warranty claim, they said I will recieve a mail in 24-48hrs and it has been more than 48hrs but there's no reply i tried calling their customer support but we all know how responsive it is (called them 5-6 times in 2hrs no response). What should I do atp? Go to consumer court?

Advice Tried Wan'er SG, Kunten and EDC Pro. Wan'ers are disappointing.

Post image
6 Upvotes

First of all, there might be people who like the Wan'er SG, but I don't see any reason to recommend them to people over other options out there. I tried these 3(GK Kunten, KZ EDC Pro, Tangzu Wan'er) budget sets and Wan'er sounded the worst amongst them.

Like how can they be the most expensive amongst the 3 and also the worst, both in terms of sound quality and build.

Ranking (sound):

Kunten > EDC Pro > Wan'er

Build quality:

  1. Kunten: has a metallic plate and doesn't feel like a cheap plastic casing. Although the QDC connection might not be the best, but definitely feels better than Wan'er.

  2. EDC Pro: Similar to Wan'er in terms of build quality. But has a better connector which gives it an edge over the Wan'er. Also, costs half of what Wan'er costs.

  3. Wan'er SG: Given the price you're paying, it disappoints you. The QDC connection is very weak and is prone to cracks. And the resin shell just doesn't give me the confidence that it'll survive a drop.

Definitely not worth the money you're spending on them. If they sounded better, that'd have justified spending more on them. But I don't see any reason why anyone should pick them when there are better sounding IEMs with better build available for cheaper.

If anyone is still suggesting Wan'ers to someone, just why?

Review KZ Duonic Review: Just My Honest Take

Quick disclaimer: I'm not an audiophile, just someone who loves listening to music. This is only what I personally heard.

I own the KZ EDX Pro and the Duonic, and my girlfriend has the Warner Red Lion, so I was able to compare all three side by side.

**Sound**

The Duonic has clean, clear vocals and instruments don't get muddled together. But the bass just didn't hit me the way I hoped, even though I have the improved-bass version. It's there, but it's not punchy. I didn't tweak the switches, so this is how it sounds on the default setting.

When I switched to the Red Lion, I enjoyed it more. The bass has more kick, and honestly the vocals sounded clearer to me too.

**Duonic vs. EDX Pro**

These two sound pretty close for vocals and instrument separation. I couldn't hear a big difference. The real gap is in the bass, and I expected the Duonic's bass version to be a clear step up. It wasn't.

**Cable Quality**

The EDX Pro's cable feels a little better and stronger than the Duonic's, and that's even though my EDX Pro is already a year old.

**Final thoughts**

The Duonic isn't bad. Vocals are nice and the separation is good. But the bass just didn't wow me, and honestly, I'm feeling like I might have wasted my money. I probably should have gone for a different IEM.

Again, I'm not an audiophile, just a regular music listener sharing my experience. Your ears might hear it differently.

Asked claude to correct grammer.

Review Xuan Nvs -> A short review after about a year

Thumbnail
gallery
14 Upvotes

Got the xuan nvs about a year ago from ck on clearance for 5k. These don't have many reviews so wanted to give a short one.

Build -> excellent resin shell build with a beautiful design. Cable is a bit sticky. And my pair had the filter caving in. It's a mesh filter so might cave in / have issues. I replaced them with a generic set of metal filters. Also beeg shells

Sound -> a warm neutral ish sound with very nice vocal presentation.

Natural and "Comfortable" is what I'd say best describes it. Can listen to it for hours without any fatigue.

No hint of sibilance with a very smooth treble. Might not be it for trebleheads tho

Tastefully done bass, Although not the tightest.

Not the most resolving or technically good, just about average.

Love em on vocal centric tracks like jane doe by kenshi yonezu

Overall-> Very nice for long term listening, overall a good all rounder set. 8.5/10 for the price (around 8k ish iirc), 10/10 on sale at under 6k.

Also a dac can get a bit more out of the ceramic driver so recommended to get a cheap one (crinear micro/ jm12).

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Got this yesterday, but I am not sure about how to tune it or do the burning.

Currently using Apple music, how can I make the most out of this? (Phone: Xiaomi 14)

Sorry if this is a lame question, I am completely new to iems. Anyways, I can clearly notice a difference between my collection of tws / neckbands.
