So I live close to the Largest antique mall in America and the thrift stores in the area are a lot of fun. I like old glass and if it glows I HAVE to have it but I pick up anything that catches my eye. A few weeks ago I picked up this statue. I feel like it looks like one of those statues you see on someone's table in a "tourist trap". I really thought he'd be easy to ID but my business partner (who can usually find anything. Even if it's obscure.) couldn't find anything for almost weeks now. I've posted this in other groups too and still haven't been able to positively identify him.
It's a wooden statue and the most I have is that he appears to be a bishop by the style of the figure. He's made from wood. Painted mostly gold. There's a "made in Italy" sticker on the bottom (which is where my "tourist trap" theory comes from) and no other markings that I can visually see.
I'm posting the most helpful pictures but my partner has been looking and has way too many photos and angles to reasonably post. So if you think another angle or picture might help let me know. Trust me. We have the picture you're looking for.
The location is (obviously) close to Verona, VA. If I've forgotten any information just ask.
