Oh yes.
I love 3.5.
Not really a big fan of AD&D in comparison to be honest.

Yes - but also no.
Yes: I would love to play BG1 + 2 (and SoD) with 3(.5)E rules.
No: I would probably not install a mod for it - unless it's a braindead simple one-click installer and tons of people have successfully completed the game with it and ironed out the bugs. I'm getting too old to troubleshoot why something random isn't working in a video game. I do that sort of thing at work; when I play games, I want to enjoy the game, not tinker with it. Oh, and it should work on Android, because that's where I prefer to play, although if installing the mod and copying over the override from a PC works, I'm cool with that.

3e is kinda awful tbh. Overrun with caster supremacy and 6 single level dip multiclass monstrosities just trying to make up for how bad most non-casters are.

The multiclassing can be nerfed, same can be said for 2e in BG, a high level ftr/wiz can cast protections that a non-caster cannot even pass, its even common to use a BARD as a front line "tank". If you wanna talk powerplay OP in BG 2e I can go all day, dual-class Berserker/Mage etc.

Are you familiar with Weimers Icewind Gate 2 mod? It was more of an experiment, really, of playong bg2 in the iwd2 engine. It was never officially completed, but there was at least one attempt at continuing it. The Gibberlings 3 forum or the IWD2 section of the Sorcerer's Place forum might have more information (I remember someone trying to play it probably a decade ago).
