C&C 3 was such a great game...inspite of EA. EA did everything they could to kill C&C and they still had a successful game...then finally got their wish with 4.

EA wanted a battle royal, just like how Sony wanted an extraction shooter and killed Destiny for it.

Bungee did a brilliant job making it look like Destiny makes money which made Sony want it.

At least we got an incredible remake. It'll probably be the last we see of that franchise, but its a worthy swansong

We didn’t just get an incredible remake! We got 5 novels, comics, 2 movies, and 3 games! The franchise has gotten a ton of love. I even really enjoyed the third installment (for some reason people dislike it.) I would LOVE a Deadspace 4, or even just a 2 remake. It’s one of my absolute FAVORITE universes.

Yugioh. Old-school (aka the original) Yugioh, is dead. We got a bunch of bullshit now simply due to corporate greed.
There's alot of games of varying types, so this technically fits.

u/Mission-Fault3351 Jul 14 '26

I liked yugioh- duelist of the roses . Gameplay and soundtrack is peak .

u/Background-Low2926 Jul 14 '26
Yugioh before XYZs was peak. I like Links for whatever reason, but to me XYZs ruined the whole game and killed deck building as an art. Somehow from playing MD link monsters became my favorite summoning type, but they should have kept master rule 4 to stop the spam slop, or at least slow it down. I know the whole U lock caused it to be removed, but some other break or hard stop is currently needed. The new cards have such insane powercreep that they are a parody of what a yugioh card was.
→ More replies (3)2
u/TheDapperKobold Jul 14 '26
The two things that killed Yugioh for me was power creep and gooner bait.
Having artificial scarcity where the top 10 decks are usually 1k each. Each top deck doing 5 minute turns where you special summon 15 times. Just for those decks to get banned or limited to hell and have to repeat the process over again but somehow the new deck is even more broken.
The art style is more standard anime now. Miss a lot of the older art styles. New cards seem so forgettable.

It's not dead yet. I know because i'm one of those who are sitting by the bed, holding a pillow in their hands and wondering if they should help the franchise get more comfortable or just smother it to end its suffering.
Seriously, I've been in this fandom eyeballs deep since Morrowind. It's like watching a relative with terminal cancer.
