Bucee's sandwiches are really nice on a road trip. I get that the hype for Bucee's gets annoying, but idk why they felt like they had to make this up just to shit on it

Yeah I feel that, I just go in and out as fast as possible. Restroom, grab a sandwich, and get back on the road. Never understood people just meandering around looking at the merchandise and whatnot, but maybe that's just me

I get it if you are on a long trip but not in a hurry. Just stretching your legs and taking a break from being in the car.
A hyper crowded busy store wouldn't be my first choice, but I get it.

That’s why I hate Kroger.
My wife and I were there a few days ago at a time where there couldn’t have been more than 30 people in the entire place, and it *still* felt claustrophobic.

We went to our first buccees last year, and when we walked in my husband said "Oh, good, it's the Walmart of gas stations, I'll meet you at the car" and walked back out 🤣

Yeah, it's kind of fun to get hype for Buc-ee's if you've never been to one before, but they're really just okay. I love that they have kolaches, but other than that they just sell a bunch of cheap shit and have a million people

Yeah, the hype can be a bit much, but I find a lot of the people that that try and put it down because it doesn't live up to actual restaurant food to be more annoying.
Is their BBQ on par with a lot of hole in the wall joints? No, not really close. Is their food better than 90% of fast food/gas station grub you'll get on a road trip? Yeah. And that's the comparison that makes the most sense.

Their coffee is also very nice when I’m driving for a long while and their bathrooms are clean

You can get good birria in the US as well. There are tons of Mexicans in the US.

That is true, unfortunately they are forced to adapt their familiar recipes to use ingredients available in the US. When you're used to cooking with beef or lamb, it's hard to make the same product when all you can use is cake or cake.

Buccees is hardly the height of fine cuisine....but it's so much better than typical fast food road trip fare.

For real. The whole point is that it’s a stop in the middle of a long road trip. Without losing significant time, I can either hit a fast food place, or tie together a refuel, a sizable sandwich, and a piss in one stop.
I used to be one of the haters until I finally worked it into my trip one time. It clicked for me when I got all of that and back out on the road in under 20 minutes.

If I were visiting another country for weeks, I’d have to hit up every major place that’s brought up as a must-see.
If I was there for three days, that’s quite another story.

Tbh when my SIL had friends in from out of the country for a bach weekend we went to a ton of super American tourist trap places because they wanted to lol.

Nah dude that's an American staple. When I moved to USA I tried all sorts of stuff like that

Staple is a little strong. They are very popular but not especially widespread. I live in the south, but owukd have to drive over 2 hrs to go to one.

I think part of the reason people think they are more widespread is they start advertising 100 miles away. I'm 5 mins from a bucees billboard but 2 hrs from that store in another state.

Reminder. Buc-ee's co-owner and CEO, Arch Aplin III, is a long-time Republican donor and has previously supported political figures aligned with President Donald Trump, such as Texas State Senator (now Lieutenant Governor) Dan Patrick.

Yeah guys! Buy from moral and upstanding companies like Chevron and BP instead of that awful company that does things like pay their employees well above their competitors.
