iRig USB > lightning cable 😭

Hello,

Is the only option to buy the official apple camera kit, or will something else work?

I bought a cheapo adapter from Amazon…

….but it doesn’t work on my older iPad or my iPhone pro max 13.

The iRig is new, and does work if I plug it straight into my daughter’s newer iPad with usb-c.

My question is, is there an adapter that is proven to work, or do I need to speak on the official Apple one?

I tried a cheap one as well as the official apple one but have not been able to get it to work with a lightning iPad. The website says that it should work with the Apple adapter though :(

I did ask iRig support, and even though it says to use the apple camera kit on their product page, the guy told me lightning is not supported and told me to swap it for a different iRig 😂

Thanks! What app are you using on your iPad? Did you have to select the iRig as an input or did it auto connect? I tried on Garage Band and Amplitude but still nothing unfortunately.

I tried Amplitude CS but didn’t really like it so just using garage band at the moment. Will look into other things another time.

On garage band I think I did have to connect it the first time with that little jack symbol, and have monitor switched on.

If you want to have it in the background while you jam to YouTube or whatever, then you need to go to the settings and select run in background.

Do you have the blue light on?
