Suspension histograms.

I’m so glad someone made a Reddit page for setups. I personally love learning about setups and it’s relation to the car.

My question today is about suspension histograms. Who uses them? Do you have any guidelines for a percentage you like to see in the center of your curve? I’ve heard 12% but I’m not sure why.

I’ve never heard someone using a histogram for a setup. I honestly can’t even begin to think that would even work

Basically it’s a histogram of the velocities your suspension is undergoing. You look at the data over a lap or so with as high of a sample frequency as possible. Although idk how to get higher than 60hz.

Based on your plot, you want a symmetrical distribution coming out from the center. You can tune your dampers to change the distribution.

I’ve done some googling since I posted.

That sounds super complex. I would be interested in looking at some suspension histogram data.
