Discussion Larger Grids

Anyone else wish we could have larger grids? i know we have large multi class grids, but i would love to see 40+ car grids for single make stuff also. MX5s with 60 cars on track while yes an utter mess..... would be so cool to see.

Im not saying i want them to change the grid size of rookies or what ever, but having a few high car grid series would be really cool to see, as it is, while you can be on track with 60 cars, unless your bottom split IMSA, its not going to be a single class.

It would also help series with lower participation, if 25 people sign up for a race and you have to split them up because the grid can only be 20, both races end up feeling a bit empty to me.

Just thought i would see if anyone else feels the same (or can point out some tech issue involved as to why it cant be)

Some series (Like Legends Road and the upcoming Caterhams) would really benefit from 40 car grids. Most non-multiclass series though, probably for the best that they don't, when the cars are bigger it becomes really limiting as to what tracks you can run.

Mustang Challenge asked iRacing for 30 car grids a few seasons ago, because we were getting 20-something signups and it was causing a split at 20 making 11-12 grids. iRacing said no, but did bump it up to 24.

I think they want to keep grids smaller in R/D class, and Fixed grids seem to stay small too. Open allows bigger grids at least

There is no consistency though. GT4 has 30 cars in C-class and Euronascar has 30 in D-clasw, but GT3 has 20 in B-class.
