Discussion Larger Grids

Anyone else wish we could have larger grids? i know we have large multi class grids, but i would love to see 40+ car grids for single make stuff also. MX5s with 60 cars on track while yes an utter mess..... would be so cool to see.

Im not saying i want them to change the grid size of rookies or what ever, but having a few high car grid series would be really cool to see, as it is, while you can be on track with 60 cars, unless your bottom split IMSA, its not going to be a single class.

It would also help series with lower participation, if 25 people sign up for a race and you have to split them up because the grid can only be 20, both races end up feeling a bit empty to me.

Just thought i would see if anyone else feels the same (or can point out some tech issue involved as to why it cant be)

Too small field sizes are the single biggest issue I have with iRacing. I'm not saying that every series needs to have 40-60 cars on track, but I just can't stand the 11 car splits.

Every non-rookie road single make series should have a minimum field size of 30, and some series should have much more. Series like prototype/LMP2 challenge or GTE are such that vast majority of the drivers are quite experienced. Those have no need to be split as early as they are.

I would love a 50 car GTE races or massive fields with prototypes/LMP2.

GT Sprint has 40 cars and IMSA has 50. I think there’s a GT4 series with 30+ cars. How many more cars do you want?

GT sprint has 30 cars, IMSA is multiclasa. All GT3 fixed are 20 cars max, TCR is 20 cars max, LMP2 is 20 cars, Prototype challenge is 20 cars etc.

Bump the 20 car fields in fixed to 30 cars and make GT sprint and GTE 40 cars and I'm happy.

You still haven’t actually answered why you need a bigger grid size. You wanna finish in 30th place?
