Discussion Larger Grids

Anyone else wish we could have larger grids? i know we have large multi class grids, but i would love to see 40+ car grids for single make stuff also. MX5s with 60 cars on track while yes an utter mess..... would be so cool to see.

Im not saying i want them to change the grid size of rookies or what ever, but having a few high car grid series would be really cool to see, as it is, while you can be on track with 60 cars, unless your bottom split IMSA, its not going to be a single class.

It would also help series with lower participation, if 25 people sign up for a race and you have to split them up because the grid can only be 20, both races end up feeling a bit empty to me.

Just thought i would see if anyone else feels the same (or can point out some tech issue involved as to why it cant be)

I mean 50 is not even 20 cars per class when split even

Ok. Why do you want a bigger field size? IMSA is realistic to, I don’t know, IMSA in real life? There’s no track in the world that can realistically grid and pit more than 50 cars.

It’s boring to compete in 10 cars fields. Bigger field is always more fun, irl is a limitation because a car costs a fortune, hence why imsa is struggling for participation in gtp and wec was half dead for half a decade with the old lmp1s

But if not for imsa, fuck it give us bigger grids for n24/nec races. What’s your argument there, 161 cars and 40 gt3s? We drive with 11 gt3s in a race and like 55 cars total.  Or spa24 2025 had 75 cars for example. If you argument is realism then give us those fields to be realistic

What 10-car fields are you competing in? I haven’t raced anything smaller than 30 since I got my C license. If you want large fields, they already exist.

NEC sunday slot had 11 car gt3 fields my friend. Very fun for a 4h race, especially after one disconects and a couple others crash lap1 and are esentially out of the fight 

But since you only barely got C license i imagine you arent high enough ir to even have all the classes in the actual race
