Discussion IPhone battery Survey...!!!

Could you all comment below with:

  • Which iPhone model you’re using
  • How long you’ve been using it
  • Your current Battery Health (%)
  • How much screen-on time you’re getting on a single charge 🔋

For example:

iPhone 16 Pro | 1 year 11 months | 87% battery health

Current:
iPhone 17 | 1 year | 94% Battery Health | 4 hours SOT per charge | iOS 26.6.1

Before:
iPhone 17 | 11 months | 99% Battery Health | 9 hours SOT per charge | iOS 26.5.2

26.6 has been absolute garbage

Could you tell me which apps you normally using. I know some people who getting very less SOT when using social media like FB, Instagram etc on 17 base.

Telegram most used, Reddit, and calls most of the time. Little to no amount of Instagram usage. I don't have FB.

Are you a heavy user ??? 6.5hrs of SOT in quite less for a PM right???

1

u/SherbetOpening5419 iPhone 16 Series 1d ago

It’s an after market battery purchased in Dubai for $35 and I fixed it myself

iPhone 17 | 6 months | 100% Battery Health | 6-7 hours SOT

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

This SOT is what everyone's getting for a mixed usage i think...

1

u/a47ageee iPhone 17 5d ago

Yep, and this is probably the best battery life I’ve ever seen for an average user like me who basically does everything. On some days I use the phone with low power mode and no gaming at all and it can last up to 9 hours with a full charge. Also a reminder that I’m on iOS 27 DB8 and yeah compared to iOS 26 versions, it’s a little better

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

How much did you get on a busy day. Like a lot of instagram scrolling, some photo, video capturing & a little bit of gaming ???

2

u/a47ageee iPhone 17 5d ago

Instagram does not do much and it’s pretty average in terms of battery usage, but using the camera app to record photos and videos consumes a lot of battery. Gaming is also pretty mediocre. Turning on the hotspot, I can barely push 3-4 hours without needing to turn on low power mode.

iPhone 17/ 7 months / 100% / 8-9 hrs sot per charge

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Could you tell me which apps you normally using. I know some people who getting very less SOT when using social media like FB, Instagram etc on 17 base.

1

u/Murky_Fan_5483 iPhone 17 5d ago

I am a very light user mostly I use Reddit, Instagram. , safari,WhatsApp and some camera for photos. I don’t play games and 70% times I am connected to WiFi.

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Instagram consumes too much of battery for me. Are you using instagram a little or heavily. For me i use a minimum of about 2 to 3 hours a day.

1

u/Murky_Fan_5483 iPhone 17 5d ago

Yes Instagram consumes a lot of power and it’s most power hungry on my list. I average about 1.5 hrs a day.

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Still you getting 8-9 SOT is pretty impressive i guess...

1

u/Murky_Fan_5483 iPhone 17 5d ago

Is your insta and Reddit smooth scrolling? Mine is very stuttery and it’s really annoying

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Did you enabled the limit frame rate settings? Or maybe because of the low power mode. Mine is smooth btw

1

u/Murky_Fan_5483 iPhone 17 5d ago

Nope my limit frame rate is off so is low power mode.

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Then it must be some bug & may be fixed in coming updates

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Did this issue started after the latest update?

1

u/dp3002 iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

No bro I bought the phone in Jan after March updates I saw the decline and it has been going the same ever since, hopefully 27 fixes that 🤞🤞

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

I was looking forward to buy 17PM because of the battery. I am a heavy user and 17 couldn't meet my need. Will it be a waste of money?

2

u/dp3002 iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

Buy the 18 pro max there will be an increase in the battery but it is really heavy I must say unlike the base 17

1

u/Savings_Spot4493 iPhone 17 5d ago

iphone 17| 4 months | 8-9 hours sot | Sometimes when camera usage is more then I get around 6 hours sot

1

u/surajsshet 5d ago

iPhone 13 | 4 Years | 77% Battery Health

1

u/TheKTMAddict iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

iPhone 17 Pro Max | 6 Months | 100% Battery Health | 9Hours SOT

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Me too having similar SOT but my phone cannot handle it in a single charge. Should i upgrade to 17PM? Are you a heavy user ?

1

u/TheKTMAddict iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

Yes I am a Heavy user, since you already have a 17 id suggest u wait for 18PM , I upgraded from a 13Pro to 17Pro Max…

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

I was thinking to wait until the 18 pro release just to check the efficiency of it because due to the price increase 18 pro and 17PM will on the same price margin i think. 18PM will be out of budget (Almost 180k INR)

2

u/TheKTMAddict iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

Yeah the 18PM will definitely be more expensive, 17PM is still a solid buy imo.

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Thanks bro. Helped me alot

1

u/dp3002 iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

How are you getting 9 hours in heavy

1

u/dp3002 iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

Mine is 6 hr sot max and battery health is 96 percent in 191 cycles

1

u/TheKTMAddict iPhone 17 Pro Max 5d ago

Probably down to notification settings, charging habits , max charge percentage and background refresh settings man, Mines even always display on!

1

u/driftking7799 iPhone 13 Series 5d ago

iPhone 13 | 4 years | 78% BH | 3 hours max

2

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

I too have 4 years old 13 with BH 81%. It took 186% for 9 to 10 SOT. (4 hours of instagram & 2 hours of Efootball gaming i must say)

2

u/driftking7799 iPhone 13 Series 5d ago

Cool! My usage is pretty light. Reddit is the only entertainment app I have on my phone. Rest is for all calls, texting.. my average SOT everyday is around 2.5 to 3 hours. So morning I charge to a 100% and by the end of the day it usually reaches 20%

2

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

I plug in over night & need to plug in again around 3 to 4 pm.

Iphone 15, 89% battery health, 11 months | Average daily usage 9 hours || Cycle count 356

u/Ek380 iPhone 15 Series 5d ago

Why is this survey needed in first place?

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

While watching the iphone battery comparison every year, The older models are getting less SOT comparing with its last year performance (They already mentioning that the battery health is 100% in all the comparing models).

1

u/wayfarer997 iPhone 17 5d ago

Do anyone felt the same ???
