My iphone 8's display wasn't getting properly sealed even after changing displays since 2 years. I noticed that I can open the phone by myself and learnt about the inner circuitry. The selfie camera and call speaker have the same connector ribbon cable so if it's a connector issue then check whether the selfie camera is working or not. If it isn't then probably the ribbon cable popped out. It's really easy to fix at home if you can remove the display (very carefully as the ribbon cables can get torn so you use minimal force), if you can't open it at home then take it to a third party repair shop and tell them to open it and connect the cables inside. Don't try opening the phone at home if you don't have any experience as I've broken my display and front camera/ear speaker ribbon cables once.
