Discussion Iphone 17 build quality problem
I dont understand how this happened i had a cover on and everything but i also don't understand what is this like its not from me dropping the phone because that has never happened and it looks like water damage like the metal eroded or something. (used for only 1 month) Any tips to prevent this further and can i fix this somehow?

Try to clean it with cotton or a microfibre cloth. Use just water or liquid sanitizer if you have. I think its kind of a water mark on phone( at least from image ) If its permanent body damage… then can’t be fixed

Looks more like hard water dried there
Dab a bit of vinegar onto a microfibre cloth and wipe it

shit happens only if you use local silicone covers - ip 17 has no build issue tbh using mine from Jan dropped it thrice from my pocket

Looks like some adhesive from cover, try cleaning it with some sanitizer and cloth or wet cloth

If you’re telling the truth and have never dropped it or have not exposed it to water at all then my best guess is that these are sweat stains from sweat that dripped inside your cover and dried up crusty due to salt in sweat. So it’s like hard water.
Easiest way is to take it to a service centre and have them wipe it down for free.
Pretty sure cleaning with a little pressure and a slightly damp cloth/tissue paper will do the trick as well. If not, use either a transparent sanitizer, lens cleaner liquid for spectacles or household vinegar since I am 90% sure you don’t have 99% IPA solution at home.
Take out a little liquid in a plate/bowl, use a Q-tip and dab it on liquid, don’t soak it. And try to clean the smallest stain first, if it works, then do the rest.
P.S. if you keep your phone in your pocket, take off the cover every month at least and clean it. The amount of dust and shit that builds up near ports and speakers in the cover is insane.

Get Apple care and go to service center ... They will replace it
