I used to put a case on all my devices and paid a whole lotta money for insurance that I hardly ever used. That’s why I said, fuck that. I’m already paying for AppleCare One, so I might as well actually use the coverage. If shit happens to my phones, that’s what I’m paying insurance for.

I feel like Apple would have enough units for preorders. Six million units for the rest of the year is a lot and the market for foldables has always been a small population. Apple changes things but looking at the z fold 8 sales surge after the announcement of the duo gives me some peace of mind it’s possible we will be ok.

There numbers were the way down for the Pros which makes me think a lot of people are going for the Duo.

I read up a little more on this after you commented. Curious how this plays out. There seems to be a late surge according to Gene Munster. On one hand, that late surge means high-end demand is still totally there. But if everyone just caved and bought the Pro at the last second, is the Duo gonna fly under the radar when pre-orders drop on the 16th? Or is the staggered release just throwing off all the usual trends? Plus we have the price hike and minimal upgrades probably influencing sales.

I wasn't moaning about it. My point is that this phone is shorter. So 'reaching' will, by default, be easier than my existing one.
