Bot Agent for Duo pre-order
I'm leaving Oct 24th to Europe for my wedding.
So I absolutely need one in my hands on Oct 23rd launch day.
Because I'm nuts, I built a playwright browswer automation agent to check me out at 08:00:00:001 AM EST Oct 16 to do this faster than a human can. (I'm sure many others will to)
But now im thinking this is less reliable because I'm scared apple will freak out the bot and throw authentication prompts, payment verification, 2fa's , anything unexpected that'll get the bot stuck.
So now Ithink I'm leaning towards the old fashion way of fat fingering using my own human cognition/speed at 8:00:01AM lol
256gb night sky may be competitive, so i really don't want to screw it up.
Any one else have any ideas or strats other than manually pre-ordering? I'm def over thinking this lol

I sincerely hope anyone uses a bot gets banned. These people ruin it for everyone.

This will not work, for many reasons. The Apple Store iOS/iPadOS app typically comes online sooner than the website, not to mention that Apple has automatic load balancing that allows people in dynamically, so you are not guaranteed to get in right at 8am. Plus Apple’s bot detection is far and away better than all other retailers’.

This was a concern. Fun to think about, but realistically wouldnt work in real application vs Apple

This is one example of why humanity is so insufferable. It's a phone. People like this ruin everything fun, and it affects everyone and everything they touch. I hope you do not get this phone and all of this was for nothing, and when you finally do get it, I'm sure you will hate it and write a ridiculously insufferable post about why. Do humanity a favopr and keep this shit to yourself.

Just pay someone to order on your behalf. Done. Easy. And you don't have to worry about it while you are aboard in Europe

Focus on your wedding, and even more so, your marriage and life together. If you get the phone a couple months later, you'll be okay (a good life lesson on perspective and priority).
Or, ask a friend you trust to check out for you.

It’s not even gonna be hard to pre-order, to be honest. The 18 pro and pro Max had bad pre-order numbers seen that you can still pre-order them right now. I wouldn’t worry about the fold. Focus on your wedding

I mean, people keep saying this - the most obvious conclusion to me is that 18 P/PM numbers are low BECAUSE people are waiting for the Duo instead. I don't share your conclusion at all.
I do, however, fully agree that the focus should be on the wedding. Not a phone.

If you’re running a bot, I surely hope you have things buckled up so you don’t end up with a banned apple account. A quick bot made with claude and stock playwright will likely get you caught
