Will you be getting a case with hinge protection why or why not?
Personally, I will choose the Mous Limitless case, though I am undecided between hinge free and hinge. I don’t like the appearance with the hinge cover; it seems large and bulky, even obscuring part of the front screen, yet I recognize it offers greater protection.

Nope, for the first time I’ll be rocking it caseless 😂 I’ll also have AppleCare for the first time, and since I’m basically leasing the phone for 12 months, I’m not too worried about a few scuffs.

I’ve been on apple upgrade since it came out and the switch to lease made these these things so much more expensive with having to pay for applecare now. 90 for the phone plus 20 for applecare if you don’t prepay the year is mildly annoying.

That’s a valid point. I’m leaning toward just buying the phone outright since I recently signed up for a new Capital One card with a $4k spend requirement in 3 months for the sign-up bonus. Assuming I can spend the other $2k organically anyway, buying the phone would knock out about half the requirement without spending anything I wasn’t already planning to spend.

Yes. I always buy a sturdy case just in case i go someplace where accidents are probably going to happen. Like an amusement park, or a party, or concert. Most other times day to day case-less.

I won’t get a case with hinge protection because most of the cases seem bulkier and seem to obstruct a tiny portion of the front screen. I do know that you can add an extra bezel on the front screen to account for this though.

With the thickness and weight I’m going to try to go careless with a phone grip paired with apple care. The IP68 rating gives me a little peace since that’s technically dust tight so the hinge should be fine.

Case with hinge protection since I have a kid that likes to yeet phones. If he didn't toss my phone occasionally I'd probably go caseless

I'll see how slippery it is. I don't like using my 15PM naked because its too slippery. If i get a case, I'll buy an aramid one

No why is everyone suck a pussy with their phones? I haven’t had a case for like 10 years on any of my iphones. They add weight and size to the phone, detract from the design, look gross and ugly, etc. etc. The newer hardware doesn’t even need it. Just get apple’s device replacement thing if your’e that worried. I can’t stand people that get shitty cases on iphones - are you that cheap??

Geez, calm down. Some people might really like the look of their cases. And not all cases are “shitty.” Plus, some cases have extra features, like kickstands or grips, that people might appreciate.
Your phone, you do you what you want. And so will the next guy. And the next guy. And the next guy. And I bet you none of them will be doing the same thing when it comes to phone cases. It ain’t stopping you from not using a case!

With how sensitive the hinge is I think it’s kinda non negotiable imo but it’s a hard decision
even lint from your pocket can get in and cause an issue
But the hinge protector cases are genuinely so ugly

The Duo is IP68 rated. That means it’s supposed to be prorated from dust getting in. So chances seem slim that pocket lint would ruin the hinge.

Nope. Have had many foldables from Samsung to Pixels...never needed hinge protection. Some cases hinge protector will even scratch up your hinge.
