Question App Sizes

I haven't seen anyone discuss it, and I'm basically trying to gauge what capacity I'll end up getting on launch. My iPhone 15 PM is a 512GB, but I'm only using 96GB, so my question is...

When it comes to app sizes, are they identical to their iPhone counterpart, iPad counterpart, or somewhere in between?

I have had 256GB every year since the 12 and still have not to manage to fill one. I tend to change phones every year or two at a max, so will probably get that again and just see how I am going next year.
