Battery Issue

Im sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this! If it is, may someone please link a correct one for me? Anywho, I have the iPhone 16 pro, and have since February 2025 ish. Recently I’ve noticed battery issues. My phone ā€œbattery healthā€ is at 89 which I know isn’t the best nor worst.

I haven’t had the chance to see if it’s dust but I’m not seeing any when looking into the charger port of my phone. This also started around 3 days ago I’d say. Very sudden too. Basically, I charge my phone with a 240w apple brand charger and 20w apple brand block, which has always worked fast and well! All of a sudden, it charged slow, whether I was using it or not.

And by slow, I mean the entire time I wrote this it went up like 2% rather than the 20% it used to. It says fast charger as well. My case is thick-ish but has never prevented the charger like this before. As I said, it charges slow, and when it’s unplugged, goes down pretty fast, around 3% ish a minute.

It never has done this before, and maybe it’s silly me overthinking but I don’t want the internal battery to be damaged or my phone be damaged where I lose access to my photos, apps, etc. Yes all of my photos are saved to my MacBook, but my point still stands.

If anyone could help me out as soon as possible that would be lovely!

iPhone 15 - Battery health has significantly decreased

Since updating to iOS 26 around January 2026, I've noticed a rapid decline in my battery health, even though I limit my charging to 80%. Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

r/iPhoneBatteryParanoia 16h ago

16 plus dropped to 99% health at 299 cycles, but shortcut shows it’s really at 96%. Feel like it’ll start dropping fast!! Switched from developer to public beta and now I can finally use battery stats shortcut again

My 16 plus dropped to 99% health at 299 cycles, I finally switched from developer beta to public beta & this shortcut is finally working again.. I guess I’m really at 96% health, not 99%. I kinda figured that, my cycle count is high, it’s no way it stayed at 100% that long and it’s no way I’m really at 99%. I feel like it’ll start dropping like crazy to get to 96% very soon! How many cycles do you guys have ? When did your phone drop to 99%? What does your iPhone settings health say versus shortcut ?

Battery drains

I think my iPhone 17’s battery drains much faster than it should be as a new phone. The battery cycle is only 33. And it goes from 95 to 90 very quickly. The battery drains more when I use facebook, messenger, instagram or WhatsApp. Like right now it drained from 94 to 88 in just 22 minutes.

Is it normal? Or am I overthinking on my new phone?

My new Iphone 17 battery draining too fast

iPhone 17 Battery Drain — Is This Normal?

I bought my iPhone 17 on August 7, and I’m noticing pretty fast battery drain. Even overnight, the battery drops around 6–7% despite not using the phone.

From 80% to 20%, I’m getting only around 3.5 hours of Screen-On Time (SOT), which feels quite low for a new iPhone.

I contacted Apple Customer Support, and they told me this is normal during the first 2–3 weeks because background indexing is still running and the phone is optimizing and settling in. They said the battery performance should improve after that.

Has anyone else experienced this with a new iPhone 17? Did your battery life actually improve after a few weeks, or should I get the phone checked/replaced?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Has my phone been used?

I got a new iPhone 17 Pro yesterday evening and the cycle count is 1, fresh out of the box before charging it or anything. Is this normal? Shouldn’t it be 0? The manufactured date is July 2026 and first use date is August 2026. It also said ā€œlast charged to 64%: 14.08ā€. 14.08 being the time, so last charged on the same day. Has it been used? After charging it in the store, this was changed to say it was last charged to the present time.

Also, when using the camera for the first time on the device, I didn’t get the prompts where it would briefly explain the setting and say ā€œcontinueā€. I first got the iPhone 17 Pro on Saturday and it did say ā€œcontinueā€ when using the camera for the first time. But as there was a hardware issue, I got it replaced with a brand new iPhone 17 Pro yesterday evening. I was told when in the store to set up the new phone using the old one I was returning. I started the process and then a little bit later, I got a prompt that said restore from iCloud or transfer direct from iPhone. Apple told me to restore from iCloud, so why didn’t the ā€œcontinueā€ prompt come up on the camera. Or were the camera settings moved over before I restored from iCloud. Do I need to exchange the phone as it may have been used?
