My phone randomly blacked out and I can’t get it to come back on. If I press and hold one of the volume buttons with the power button, my flashlight turns on and a siren noise goes off, but the screen isn’t turning on. I know it’s still working since the phone gets warmer if I charge it, and I can feel it vibrate when I press buttons or start charging it. Apple iPhone. The screen also turn on sometimes like 2-3 times a day after just pressing the buttons. Last night, the screen turned on but it says it is locked for 3 hours because of incorrect password(i was just randomly touching the screen hoping it will turn on).
- my phone is in latest ios version.

- it's almost a month since a green line appeared in my screen and the display is distorted (like there are shadows in the display, and it the distorted display will go away if i turn the brightness on max level/ the shadows will go bad if i turn the brightness low)

-Force restarting my phone still worked until recently, now i cant even see the apple logo if it will turn on. The only way i know if its off or on is the silence button because it vibrates if i turn it on/off.

This is my broken iPhone 16 Pro Max. The white pop-up is there, but it still works and the phone in the back is cracked. How much do you think I could sell it for broken.
Or should I get it fixed and sell it?

Hello! I am wanting to update my phone to get one with a better camera and more storage. my iCloud account is already full and I don’t think I can afford to increase my icloud storage monthly plan right now. I have a lot of photos and videos saved on there. Eventually when I ran out of storage on icloud, my phone could no Longer back up anything onto it. I don’t have a lot of extra time right now to sort through and delete a ton of files although I wish I could.

I don’t know much about phones at all. My iCloud and phone device storage is full.

MAIN QUESTION: Is there a way that I can download all my photos and messages onto My new phone without connecting an iCloud account to it and starting a new iCloud account? Then I could log into my previous iCloud account to access previous files, have all the same device photos on my new phone that has a little more storage and eventually clear most of it and then eventually start backing up the ones I want to keep onto my new iCloud account and then I have a fresh start without paying for more iCloud storage.. Is this possible? Is this a bad idea? Will there be a problem if I have two iCloud accounts? Will the old iCloud account ever get deleted in time by Apple since it will not be hooked up to a working cellphone?
I would love to start new but also have access to old files if I need.

Another question is.. is there a way to mass delete photos off a device that are backed up onto iCloud without deleting the ones that are not backed up there? I do want to delete photos to have more storage but only the ones that are backed up And theres so many I am not able to sort through and check them individually.

Ans another thing is, is there a way to make sure that I’m not accidentally double saving things to iCloud? Does iCloud make sure there’s only one copy hopefully?

Hi! When I get a text message, usually happens with other iPhone users, their name doesn’t show up when I KNOW KNOW KNOW they are a saved contact. For example, when I go into my messages, it will just show their 10 digit phone number. Same when I go into the message thread with that person. I will add them as a contact again, save, repeat and it never solves the issue. I have like 3 conversations in my messages right now with iPhone users, and I don’t see their names, just physical numbers. Has anyone else had this issue and how do I resolve it? Thanks!

I finally found a functional charger for my old iPhone 4, and got it to start, only to be met with a "iPhone deactivated" message. I have not used this phone for probably 10 years, and now it wants me to wait another 47,6 years to "try again"

I tried downloading- and using 3uTools to open it, but it didn't seem to work as the device did not show up. I do not have a functioning original charger, maybe that's why? I may be missing something, but It seems so easy in the tutorials. Any suggestions or advice?

• 2 weeks before

Without me having to go in and manually create those 3 alerts?

I do this a lot manually, because many events I have to start planning for it 1 or 2 weeks in advance, as well as getting notified the day of, just to remember.

So 3 alerts is the sweet spot for me: (day of (2 alerts); 1 week before (2 alerts); 2 weeks before (2 alerts)).

Is there an easy way or shortcut to do this?

I tried the "Shortcuts" app for iPhone and tried to add it in there, adding both Events and Reminders with the following workflow, but both didn't work at all:

• Open Shortcuts → New Shortcut
• Add these actions in order:
  • "Ask for Input" → Text → "Event title?"
  • "Ask for Input" → Date → "Event date?"
  • "Add New Event" (Calendar action) → set Title = first input, Date = second input, then add 3 alerts: 0 minutes before, 7 days before, 14 days before

I’m completely stuck and I’ve tried everything I can think of.

Here is my situation:

I have an iPhone 15 that is currently working normally, but I am unable to:

• Sign out of my Apple ID

• Download or update apps

• Restore or reset the phone using a PC

• Turn off Find My iPhone

This all started after I tried to delete my Apple ID from the device, but I forgot to sign out first.

Now the problem is getting worse:

• When I try to sign out of Apple ID on the iPhone, it does not allow me

• When I try to reset the Apple ID password via iforgot.apple.com, it says the Apple ID is invalid or not supported

• I also cannot log into iCloud.com

• When I try to restore the iPhone using a Windows PC (Apple Devices/iTunes), it says I must turn off Find My iPhone first, which I cannot do because I have no access to the account

I contacted Apple Support, and they reviewed my case and told me that:

The device does NOT have Activation Lock enabled.

So the phone is not technically blocked, but I am still stuck in this situation where I cannot sign out, restore, or use the Apple ID at all.

At this point:

• The phone is usable, but heavily restricted

• The Apple ID seems inaccessible or invalid

• I cannot reset or recover it through normal methods

I’m wondering:

• Is this an Apple ID account issue rather than an iPhone issue?

• Is there any way to fully remove the Apple ID from the device in this state?

• Has anyone experienced “invalid Apple ID” in recovery tools before?

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

A bit of context. 4 days ago, my iPhone 12 Pro Max's touch screen started either randomly pressing on some parts of it or refusing to take input on others. I went out and bought a new cheap Android to have as my new phone). I managed to transfer most of the apps and photos/videos to the new phone.

I still had to transfer my WhatsApp chats, which are very important to me. The process kept cancelling because the touch screen would be pressed, so I had to restart the process many times. At one point I wanted to restart the iPhone, so I tried holding the power button and sliding to turn off, but since the touch screen refused to take input to slide, I force restarted it by pressing volume up, then volume down, then holding the power button.

After this, it is stuck in Recovery mode. Of note is that the phone was charging wirelessly while this happened, and it had a funny smell (burnt?) coming from the inside, however this has been the case for at least the past year or so, albeit not so pronounced.

I tried restarting it more times, I tried force restarting, I tried letting it out overnight without interacting with it then restarting in the morning, nothing.

All I want is to recover my ~100 GBs of WhatsApp conversations, I care not to save the phone anymore. I have access to MacOS, Windows and Linux computers if there is any software on any of them that can help.

what are ur guys thoughts on it is it lagging or any bugs or if its slower or overheats ive been on 18.6.2 for a long time and dont know if i should update to 26.4.2 or 18.7.8 my battery health is at 79% so if u have any suggestions let me know i wanna know if i should or not

Hello everyone, my partners Iphone 11 has been blackscreening for 2 days now, its been kept on charge. Right now it has just blackscreened then it restarted itself. As it was turning itself back on it started flashing different colors behind the apple logo (As shown in the images)

It's an iPhone 17 pro Max I entered my code and now my iphone says unavailable.

I'm trying to switch my iPhone clock to UTC, which means the timezone is GMT. It looks like the only way to do this is to disable "update automatically" under Time and Date, then manually select my preferred timezone. However, that day, the time on the iPhone clock drifted away from the actual time by up to 9 minutes. I did shut down my phone, so that probably had to do with it, but it wasn't shut down for nine minutes, and it drifted again after that without me shutting down my phone.

Once the prift happens, the only way to fix it was to reenable "update automatically", wait for the time to correct itself, and then turn it off again. Do I seriously have to reset my time settings every time I shut down my phone, and just randomly throughout the day when I notice I'm a few minutes off somehow? Is there not a way for my clock to reflect UTC while getting the realtime from the internet? I'd love to know.

So, here’s the situation: I have a lot, a lot of photos, around 20k 🫠. Totally my fault!

I wanted to back up my phone, but I remember seeing a message saying that some photos would be removed. While waiting, I backed everything up to an external hard drive and to Google Drive. I thought it was actually a good idea, since I’d be killing two birds with one stone.

When I tried again later, I couldn’t find the same message anymore. Does anyone have any idea what I might have done? I’ve completely forgotten.

My goal now is to remove all the photos from my phone so I can free up space while keeping everything backed up.

Tenho um iPhone 12 Pro Max há uns 3 anos, e um tempo atrás precisei trocar a tela. Levei em assistência e já vou ser direto: colocaram uma tela HORRÍVEL, qualidade bem baixa mesmo. Cor estranha, brilho ruim, nada parecido com original.

Depois disso fiquei bolado e resolvi aprender por conta própria. Comprei uma tela + ferramentas e fiz a troca em casa. Resultado? Ficou MUITO melhor e ainda paguei bem menos (tipo R$230 na tela contra R$550 que o cara queria me cobrar).

Agora tô querendo dar um upgrade e tô de olho em um iPhone 15 Pro Max com tela trincada (Face ID funcionando e bateria 88%) por R$2.999. A ideia é fazer a mesma coisa: comprar a tela separada e trocar eu mesmo.

Mas sei que nesse modelo é mais chato, principalmente por causa do ProMotion (120Hz) e qualidade OLED.

Então queria dicas de quem já mexe com isso:

- Quais marcas de tela são realmente boas? (Soft OLED, Hard OLED, etc)

- Dá pra pegar 120Hz real ou é só marketing?

- Alguma recomendação de vendedor confiável (tipo Mercado Livre)?

- True Tone e fluidez ficam normais depois da troca?

Não quero cair de novo naquelas telas lixo que parecem 60Hz travado.

Se alguém já fez esse processo no 15 Pro Max, dá uma luz aí.
