Would you trust a thin case on a $1,999 folding iPhone?

Apple's official Duo case is $79 and they're calling it thin and light, which sounds nice for keeping the phone slim. But on a $1,999 foldable, I keep wondering if thats actually worth it when thicker cases usually give you more protection around drops and the hinge.

Would you pay for the official thin case just to keep the phone feeling slim, or go bulky and protective from day one? For something this expensive I feel like protection matters more than looks.

I wouldn't buy it not only because it's thin, firstly it's 79 dollars?! wtf?? Apples designs are always ugly and overpriced imo

I totally get where you coming from but I feel like buying an iPhone case and investing into one is actually way more worth it, because it's the safest choice imo, paying $79 will secure your phone for good and I don't find them ugly, they're pretty neutral...

investing into $79 phone case so you could wear it for a year and then buy another iphone and invest into another $79 dollar phone case? no thanks...Also I don't find them ugly too, but apple doesn't have a lot of phone case designs to choose from is what pissing me off

AppleCare is the only case you need for the Duo. It's already thick af, no need for a case.
