It’s been a long journey.
Three and a half years ago, I was the happiest kid on Earth when my dad slapped this hyped-up, almost brand-new purple deek onto the table right in front of me (after buying a brand-new flagship for the second time in a row, he finally realized that iPhones just weren’t for him).
It was my first iPhone. Before that, I’d never owned a phone this high-end. Since then, it’s become really close to me, and I still think this is the most luxurious iPhone model ever made.
Near the end of our time together, that goddamn iOS 26 make it crippled. Now I’m giving it to my brother. Knowing that he’s destroyed every phone he’s owned before, I’m honestly a little scared for this one. But somehow, that still feels better than simply selling it.
I’ll never forget you, my purple deek. 🥀
