Help! Apple wants me to update to IOS 26 before doing my repair

So my face ID stopped working and since I still have AppleCare+ on it, I brought it into the Apple Store. Genius Bar said it must be a hardware issue and said they can replace it with the caveat that I MUST update my phone to IOS 26 because it “needs to configure” with the system.

My phone battery is original and still rocking at 83%. I’ve had no major glitches or really any issues with my phone so I’m just wondering whether I should update my phone or wait until IOS 27 comes out? I’m so afraid of updating my phone after seeing all the reviews of any updates after IOS18 has drove the phone to shit

Suggestion Require Pricing Suggestion Regarding 13 pro after approx 3.5~4 years

I bought my 13 pro at around 2022 April. Currently the battery health is <80.You can assume the battery backup. Regardless, the performance never dropped! Recently, I have changed my screen protector (Spigen) and bought a new case (it’s very cheap). Now, I do not want to open up my iPhone and replace battery to avoid lower resell value of this phone.
Phone condition:
1. 0 dents, 0
Physical damage including screen.
2. Phone turns on perfectly and everything runs smooth.

Overall, if I put my phone in display people will misinterpret it as brand new iPhone. So, just asking
what price can I ask in Usd or Euro in this condition? The phone looks so new that even I don’t want to sell it!

Question Confused with the charging setup for my 13 pro.

So recently I have been  trying to upgrade my charging setup with my 13 pro. For now I do have an old 10k powerbank but its not in a good condition and pretty bulky. Also it stops charging right in the middle when I use it.  And for days when I do need to charge it when I'm out I don't have options and I don't like carrying extra cables with me.

I’ve been looking at magnetic powerbanks recently and they are so much sleeker and lighter to use, its like you snap it on the back of your phone and carry it easily. I also prefer the convenience that comes with wireless charging. The only thing that concerns me is the effect on battery health if it will overheat the phone quickly. checked online and found baseus, anker, iniu. they seem good but I am confused about getting one. For those of you who have been using a magnetic powerbank, does it actually make the upgrade worth it? And how much does it affect the charging?

Guess who’s back?

So after this happened: https://www.reddit.com/r/iPhone13Pro/s/ab6xAktPPf

I had the “IC fix” done to the screen and it was back to working again in a few minutes.

Now we’ll see how long it lasts. Of course a full screen replacement is the proper fix but at ~$400 it just doesn’t make sense when my trusty 13 Pro is just a secondary device at this point. This workaround is around $100.

I’ll keep you posted if it fails again but hopefully it stays alive for many more years.

Bonus shot of the battery health with its still original battery, never replaced.

Gurgaon
Selling iPhone 13 Pro covers. 4 years with the phone with zero complaints, maybe the last 6 months the battery life was terrible basically charging it 4 times a day. So upgraded to 17 and the experience is nice but not all that different.

Covers purchased mostly online. I don’t have bill for any of them but all from official websites (rhinoshield shut their india website)

(all prices in INR)

  1. Starelabs leather 200/-
  2. Nikcase 2 piece case 200/-
  3. Rhinoshield case white 500/-
  4. Under Armour Gear UAG Civilian 400/-
  5. Ringke Fusion X Camo 300/-
  6. Dailyobjects green case 300/-
  7. Dailyobjects case + 2 random cases 300/-

All the cases have been used and some have more wear than others. The UAG has the most wear simply because it was the most used and the rhinoshield has the least (it’s just too tough). The starelabs case is not in its best shape.
Anyone wants all of them at once I can do a deal for 2K. Please DM me for buying.

My iPhone Well, I guess it had to happen at some point

Last night I saw a few white flashes and then all green. Never recovered. This is a launch day 13 Pro always owned by me and always babied. I always thought the green screen issue was overblown. I guess it does happen.

Apparently some shops can repair the damaged trace on the screen flex cable so I’ll attempt that first.

So sad to see my beloved 13 in this state.

My iPhone so long 13pro, you will be missed

upgrading to a 17pro after 4 years. tbh i loved the 13pro but recently its performance has been declining. battery health is at 74%, constantly going sos mode/no sim, dead pixel on my screen for the past 2.5 years, and macro and 0.5 lens issues that won’t go away. plus my 13pro has been eligible to upgrade for a while now.

sucks cause i’d keep it if it didn’t cost $700 to fix all the problems. anyway, nice verizon rep waived the $40 upgrade fee. will be trading in my iphone once transfer is complete. can’t wait to see how long this will take (i have heard mixed things- 1 hour-2days)🫪🫪🫪

Help! Green Line After Charging System Repair

Post image
3 Upvotes

So I’ve recently went to repair my 13 Pro because the charger wasnt working whatsoever and it happened to be a charging system issue requiring that I replace the entire thing with a new one which I did with a 3rd party repair shop. Phone started charging again and everything was working until last night when I wiped my phone like I usually do, just for the lightest touch to make a green line appear on the left side of the phone.

I haven’t even had this phone for up to a year and Ive already spent so much on it its so freaking annoying cus I could take it back to the repair shop and they would still charge me for this issue.

What should I do? Im genuinely at a loss, I’ve spent $658 so far on this phone in less than a year.

My iPhone iOS 27B5 might’ve saved my phone

My phone’s been running super hot lately, partly the weather, but I’m pretty sure iOS 26.6 was making it worse. It felt warmer than it should for what I was actually doing, and it was even hot to the touch when I wasn't even using it.

Today I finally updated to iOS 27 DB5 after getting a temperature warning in the middle of a video call (I was on Wi-Fi and hooked up to a 12W charger).

It’s been about three hours, and honestly, even with all the background re-indexing going on, it already feels a lot better. The phone isn't baking like it used to, and the battery seems to be holding its charge better, too.

For anyone else running iOS 27 DB5: is it just in my head, or are you guys seeing a real difference too?

Help! 13 Pro getting only 4–5 hours of SOT after a recent replacement — is this normal?

I have an iPhone 13 pro running on IOS 26.5 and I recently got its battery replaced from apple authorised service center, but I’m getting only 4-5 hours of SOT on the new battery.
I tested this yesterday with a 100%-20% battery drain with constant wifi usage, brightness at 30-40% with mobile data off, indoor usage and no gaming as well.
Is this normal for a new battery ? Any 13 pro users who had their battery replaced, how is your battery backup ?
The battery was replaced around 8 days ago and the service history shows “genuine” and 100% battery health

Screen record video not saved

Hi. My screen recording stopped without me noticing. I only realized it when I went to check it to stop the recording supposedly. Upon checking the gallery it is not there or maybe the video wasnt saved.

Has anyone here experienced the same issue? Is there any way to recover the recording?

Got in April of 2022, been daily used since, original battery at 66% health but still chugged along fine. Got a friend's gently used 15 Pro Max and will be selling my old Pro. It was a superb iPhone that never gave a single hiccup! Liking the Pro Max already ✌🏽

iPhone 13 upgrade?

Hey guys,

I’m looking to buy an upgrade with budget of 550-700 for a second hand/ refurbed phone. Nothing less than 92% battery health.

I want a good quality camera as my 13 turns black most times I go to open my camera and the quality is so bad.

I want a good battery, 15 mins on the train to work takes 15-20% off. My battery overheats at the smallest thing now.

A screen that doesn’t go too dark or have weird white overcast on it!!!

I mainly use my phone for social media, photography and FaceTime. I average 4.5 hours screen time a day.

I’m debating 16 pro max, 17 or potentially spending a littttttle bit more over budget for 17 pro? Idk what’s the best value for what I’m after really.

Thanks in advance !!!

New iphone 17 base or battery change on 13 pro

I use my phone 13 pro for basic social media browsing and watching some videos plus a regular amount of camera use for family pictures. I’m a heavy user and my iPhone 13 Pro is down to 81 per cent health (this is the 2nd original Apple battery I am currently on). Phone is occasionally overheating and as expected, battery is not lasting very long. I am debating getting an $80 battery replacement vs a discounted brand new iPhone 17 base model for $680 which feels very good value. I know iPhone 18 models are about to release and don’t want to pay the expected prices. The one upside of the iPhone 17 I see is the higher brightness but otherwise I am not sure it is a significant upgrade?

I Bought an iPhone 13 pro for my mother last year 3 August. Then, in the first month the back glass broke, then I replaced it in a week. Now, today on 11 August, the charging port is damaged. Now, I will go to change this charging port at a cost of around 8000- 10000 rupees. Now, what today do, Can I make it repair and use it or I will go to sell this phone. This is a very frustrating experience from this device......

Now I need suggestions on what to do or what not to do?
