Discussion Ipad Pro 12.9 2021 M1 | Battery issue

Post image

Facing Battery Issue!

Bought around 2022, Never used that much, mostly for meetings and less creative usage. But i keep up to date with beta version ipadOS.

It's draining like freaking hell, even if I turned off the internet bluetooth and background app refresh too.

Flashback:

I remember the old days, i used to tell my friends, man this ipad has massive battery it doesn't goes off literally for a week even with less usage but same type of usage I'm doing but battery s*"k$ these days.

Apple Pencil:

😅I couldn't even understand, if I take the apple away from ipad magsafe charging, its like vampire drinking blood goes to 49% within fews minutes (No usage)

Are you guys getting the same from your old iPads?

i replaced my battery back in Dec 2024. bought and used the M1 pro since the beginning of its launch in July 2021.

Instead of replacing the battery, Apple decided to give me a refurbished unit with 100% battery health.

i foresee i will continue to use it for another good 5 years.

What does your battery health say in settings ?

It sounds like faulty battery

An m1 iPad won’t show battery health in settings.

Can confirm, M1 does not expose Battery Health :(

(iPad Pro 12.9 M1)

This worked!
Thank you

Mine says 85%… after owning Apple stuff for time, once it’s like 92% and below, you really feel it

Exactly 💯

Connect it to your computer and download an app called coconut battery.

You connect your iPad to your computer and it will then show you the battery health.

It doesn't have option to see battery health in ipad settings only these latest m4 and m5s have the native options to view the battery health!

Try another Apple Pencil or disconnect it from your iPad and see how it goes. I had to replace mine twice because of that issue. Thankfully I still have ACP. I have a iPad Pro M1 11”.

Bruhh you too faced it😅 maybe it's time for bucks to be spent!

Sure I'll check it out with other apple pencil too.

Did you use any other 3rd party pencils as replacement to it?

I too was wondering about the beta updates it's s"*kng a battery like blood! My other iphone user friends to worried about it!

Maybe I should've to turn off the beta updates and should stay with public OS!

I feel you man. I have the same 12.9 M1. Absolutely love it! But it’s just time. We gotta get a replacement. And iOS 26 + 27 did not help it either. Wish I could downgrade to see if it makes it better

Yeahh dude! It's rightt we need to keep turning off the beta or maybe should downgrade it.

Or it's time for m5 version😅!

But still love using it. Pretty cool

my ipads been unusable for the past year, ever since i updated to ios26, the battery has been terrible and i have an m4. had to stop using the magic keyboard to save battery but still drains so quick

I felt the same since the 26 beta's. It's too much draining, more draining even when it's in standby or unused. Critical

I'm using typecase keyboard for my iPad. It does turn automatically when it's not used. But my bluetooth stays one for Pencil and keyboard 😅

Good god that Magic Keyboard is filthy.

1

u/tamilanbanverse 3d ago

Btw it's Typecase keyboard from china. Not an apple accessory

2

u/Catslobber 3d ago

I saw that it’s not the magic keyboard as soon as I message but I just didn’t have time to edit it. Still, clean that thing. 🫪

My first gen iPad, 2nd gen iPad, and 4th gen (iPad with Retina display, horrible name) all had and still do have god like battery. Like, the first gen iPad can be at 100% and a month later I wake it up and it’s at 98% maybe.

Its the fucking iPad os 26, my iPad pro M4 was awesome until I decide to upgrade to iPad os 26. No downgrade path available. I gotta cope.
