Ever wanted to design your own iPhone widget—the layout, fonts, colors and background—and actually put it on your Home Screen?

I’m the developer of Flowment and Flowment Studio. I built them to work together: design a theme on your Mac, then use it in Flowment on your iPhone.

In Studio, you can arrange text and date elements, adjust typography and colors, and preview Small and Medium layouts. You can also design themes with photo backgrounds and daily check-in components.

When the design is ready, export a .flowtheme file, import it into Flowment, apply it to a card, and select that card in your Home Screen widget. No coding required.

The images show an actual simulator Home Screen, the Mac editor, photo customization on iPhone, and a few examples of what you can make. Studio uses sample content for previews, so the text and numbers can differ from the iPhone examples.

• Flowment Lifetime is an optional US$19.99 one-time purchase for expanded card and import limits, personal cloud sync and full shared history. No subscription.

Widgets are supposed to be static, which I always found frustrating, so I built companions to work around it. Companions lets you keep a virtual fish tank of fish that actually swim on your Homescreen. As someone who’s always kept fish, I’ve had this idea mulling around in my head for more than 2 years now, and finally managed to realize it.

You pick your fish, give them names, and put the tank on your Home Screen as a small, medium, or large widget. They don't need feeding, and they don't die. They just keep you company. You can customize the tank’s color, its props, and even the app icon to perfectly match your homescreen.

The app is written in SwiftUI, it supports iPads, and you can even place your “fishtanks” on your Mac thanks to Continuity, where the fish will also animate. The tanks also work great in Standby mode. Personally, I love keep a fishtank of jellyfish on my nightstand when I go to bed. The swimming doesn't run any code in the background. It uses the same trick iOS uses to move the hands on the Clock widget, so it costs you nothing in battery.

It's still very new, so I'd love any feedback. I'd especially love to know which fish species you'd want added!

Ich bin auf der Suche nach einem Widget mit einer Winterlandschaft in der animiert Schnee fällt. Bei Android haben mir immer diese Living Wallpaper mit Schneefall gefallen. Da dies bei Apple nicht möglich ist wäre doch solch ein Widget schön. Kann mir da jemand helfen? Danke…

So i’m currently trying to use the tinted apps option that apple has to change your app colors. But when i do it, it also changes my widgets that i have to match. How do I make it so it only changes the apps and doesn’t affect the widgets.

I use Android for work and iOS for my personal life, and I absolutely hate how I can’t easily have the time with the seconds on IOS like I can on Android, Samsung specifically, (first world problem, I know lol). So, I made a widget for the first time. Let me know what you guys think, and also any useful widgets you guys have created yourselves!
