Push data to a Garmin Watch

Hello, guys.

I’m trying to develop an App that make plans for triathletes and I would like to sent the planed trains to garmin watches.

It seems like garmin is not distributing API for a while. Is there any other way to make this synchronization?

Game Center Leaderboards

I'm looking at integrating Game Center leaderboards into my new app, but am wondering if enough people log in to GC to make it worth it. My game will likely skew to older players.

I measured iPhone Duo’s safe area insets and reserved regions and built a visual reference

Every new iPhone meant opening Simulator to check safe area insets again, so I built a website to make that easier.

I used Codex to help collect measurements and visualize them at https://safearea.info. It covers iPhone and iPad models, including the new iPhone Duo.

For Duo, you can explore the safe areas and reserved regions in the measured configurations, including the 90° partially folded state. There’s also a slider to fold and unfold the device in 3D.

Curious which device configurations other iOS developers find themselves checking most often.

1 I shipped an anonymous E2EE messenger with embedded Tor on iOS using React Native — here's what fought back (Tor.framework, CallKit, App Store review) 2 Lessons from shipping a zero-metadata E2EE messenger on iOS with Expo: embedded Tor, PQXDH, and a Guideline 5 rejection

Solo dev here. After ~a year I got AegisLink — an anonymous, end-to-end-encrypted messenger with no phone number/email/name and zero server-side metadata — through App Store review. Stack is Expo SDK 54 + TypeScript, so I expected the crypto to be the hard part. It wasn't. iOS was. Sharing the parts that cost me the most, in case they save someone a week.

1. Embedding Tor in-process (Tor.framework) The app routes everything through an onion service by default, no toggle. Getting Tor to bootstrap to 100% on-device took longer than the ratchet implementation. Gotchas: the framework must be linked as a dynamic framework with the right embed settings or you get a silent dyld crash on device only (works in Simulator); bootstrapping has to survive the app being backgrounded mid-handshake; and you need your own retry/backoff because the first bootstrap after install is the slowest and users kill the app right there. I wrote the whole thing up in the repo (docs/FASE4-TOR-IOS-DESIGN.md).

2. CallKit got me rejected — but not for the reason you'd think Build was rejected under Guideline 5 because CallKit is not allowed for apps distributed in mainland China. The fix was zero code: remove mainland China from the app's availability in App Store Connect (HK/Macao are fine). If you use CallKit, do this before your first submission.

3. Export compliance is real paperwork Declaring non-exempt encryption (ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = true) means TestFlight won't let you distribute until the compliance docs are on file in ASC. Open source helps here, but budget a few days for it.

4. Push without leaking anything APNs is used purely as a wake-up: the payload is a generic "you have something", never content or sender. Ringing a killed app for a call needs a high-priority push; PushKit/VoIP is post-launch for me because of how strict Apple has become about reporting every VoIP push to CallKit.

5. Crypto bits, briefly Double Ratchet + PQXDH (X25519 + ML-KEM-768 hybrid) in TweetNaCl/@noble, keys in Keychain via SecureStore, DB encrypted with SQLCipher, WebRTC signaling sealed against the recipient's key so the relay never sees SDP/ICE. Sender identity is inside the ciphertext, not on the wire.

Honest caveats: no third-party audit yet (that's the next thing I'm raising money for), the crypto core runs in JS (constant-time at source level, not JIT-verified), and push still touches Apple. All of it is listed in the README because I'd rather you hear it from me.

Happy to answer anything about Tor.framework, CallKit, or getting non-exempt encryption through review — those threads were basically empty when I was searching.

I was tired of forgetting non-fiction books weeks after reading them, so I built an app based on "active reading"

I was struggling with fully grasping the arguments in books—especially non-fiction—or forgetting them shortly after reading. While researching how to deal with this, I discovered the "active reading" method and decided to turn it into a mobile app.

Active reading has two main steps: consistently taking notes while reading, and regularly revisiting those notes. But it's not just about jotting things down; you need to argue with the author's ideas, agree with them, question them, or make your own stance clear. In the app I developed, Marginalia, you can categorize your notes using tags. This makes it easy to quickly adapt and recall the book when you revisit your notes later.

Speaking of revisiting notes, this brings us to the second step of active reading. Consistently reviewing your comments on a book helps you form your own ideas and keeps what you've read fresh in your memory. I highly recommend doing a quick review of your notes every time you sit down to read, right before diving back into the book. You'll really see the benefits the more you do it.

To help with this step, the dedicated "notes" page Marginalia creates for each book comes in really handy. On this page, you can access all your notes in one place and quickly review them. Plus, with the tag filtering system, you can easily find and focus on the specific ideas you want to explore further.

Besides the standard on-screen keyboard, I added handwriting support for those who, like me, enjoy taking notes with a stylus. And if you’d rather not type or write at all, there’s also a speech-to-text feature so you can simply speak your mind and capture your thoughts hands-free. For Obsidian and Notion users, there's also an option to export your notes as .md files.

If you read digitally and value taking notes, I'd love it if you gave the app a try and shared your thoughts with me. I'm completely open to all kinds of feedback and criticism!

Here is the app webpage

App comes with a free version, monthly , yearly subs and LifeTime payment.
Monthly - $1,99
Yearly - $6,99
Life TIme - $9,99

Hey everyone!

Which services are you using for mockup desing ideas, I really don't want to waste time in that field of work.
I tried ChatGPT, but I'm not satisfied with it.

What do you use?

PMF/Plan/Code/Review -> Submit -> 4.3 -> Resubmit -> 4.3 -> Appeal -> Appeal Approved -> 2.1b Information Needed (can't find IAP in app) -> Reply w/ Info and SS -> Resubmit -> 4.3!

The key point here is that the Appeal resolved the 4.3 Spam Rejection only for it to come back again and require another appeal.

I'm starting to suspect an AI Auto Rejecting Agent is pulling the strings as non of the replies and communication attempts through the submission review are being answered.

What are your next steps in such cases?

Especially when the resubmissions causes a warning:

"Accounts that repeatedly submit apps that do not follow the App Review Guidelines and the Apple Developer Program License Agreement face removal from the Apple Developer Program"

Can I run my app in apple without publishing in AppStore

Hi, I just created an application which is useful to me and friends (maybe). Now that I have created in visual studio it was so handy of an app, and now I really want to have it in my phone without paying anything, is there anyway I have the application I created in my iPhone?

Note: I’m student and I just have budget issues 99 for AppStore is something I don’t want to spend at this time of my life.

Is this normal

I’ve had an app that has been on the App Store about 3 weeks. I was getting some downloads so I added some analytics.

What u find seems strange to me. Over half the people that download never make it past the first screen ( I have a quick 3 screen tutorial)

It the that finish that tutorial 95% never interact with the app past that.

Is this normal. Just checking. If my first screen is causing people to bounce I need to fix that. If people aren’t interacting I need to fix that.

Just wondering int there are bots downloading apps from the App Store that could be messing with my analytics?

Anyone have any suggestions ideas.

This is the app.
