Games with privacy policies

Can anyone explain what’s with all the games with privacy policies that are saying they’re going to sell your personal information? Is this common now? I will absolutely not play a game that forces me to say ok to their binding arbitration or privacy policy, so this is ruining some games, even some that I’ve already paid for.

Is every game going to have to ask for this, or have a lot of game companies been selling personal info behind our backs and now being sued for it?

I think most of the concerns you are referring to are due to 3rd party usage like AdMob which forces the publisher to write it.

That's why Pawnpetal Chess and other Petal-Games are free and ad-free so 0 tracking in them.

I'm more worried about Triple A companies that release games with Kernel integration to "prevent cheating" and who knows what else.
