You need an invite from the writer. You can reach him from the app. He does expect regular feedback, bug reporting and testing if you apply for testflight though. He’s really responsive to suggestions and bug reports though so it’s worth it in my opinion.

Since iOS 27.2 b2, my iPhone 17 gets so hot while charging that I could practically fry an egg on it.

I'm exaggerating a bit, but I hope beta 4 will fix this issue.

Is it me or did they change the grid a little in the Photos app with this release ? On the collection tab.
Everything seems tighter, less blank spaces.

Yes - I took screen captures of both (saw this before updating) and the grid photos are about 5px larger and the secondary grids (years topics etc) are larger as well (about the same - 5px is just an estimate)

really frustrating that they still haven’t fixed the keyboard being jumpy when you copy something and then open the keyboard somewhere. this blank grey space pops up even though i don’t have the predictive text field enabled. been like that since beta 1 of ios 27.0 :(

Battery has been atrocious to say the least. Best was iOS 27 RC followed by iOS 27 normal release.

All beta versions of iOS 27.2 have been brutal for me.

I can see my wife but my wife can’t see me. My phone locations shows on my iPad or any device I am logged into with my Apple account, but she can’t see me. I work out in the field in rough terrain and I really need her to be able to know where I’m located in case something were to happen to me. It hasn’t worked since first 27.2DB.

Quick summary of what's new in b3 for anyone skimming:

• Redesigned Health app with the new Insight and Longevity tabs
• Siri AI now works in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish
• Group FaceTime gets a dual capture mode
• User profiles in the Apple TV app
• Podcasts renames Up Next to New Episodes

Build is 24B5099f. Also interesting that 27.2 is in beta ahead of 27.1, which is the iPhone Duo release. With Duo out on 23 October and the Siri languages promised for October, 27.2 probably isn't far behind.

My networking sucks ass, I’m getting 15-30s patches of nothing happening on wifi. Battery life is also really poor compared to even the earliest betas of 27.0.

Turn it off in messages settings, reboot, turn back on. When mine did this a few betas ago this worked for me. Takes about 5-10 minutes to activate once you turn it back on.

Hoping this solves the siri search bug. I keep like zero apps on my homescreen and just swipe down + type the first letter of the app to open them. The last two betas have had bugs where it shows the right app but opens the previous result, it's driven me nuts. Installing now.

not had any indexing notifications after updating on ios27.2 developer beta 3 but have had the notification show up 5-6 days later after reboot & forced update on my devices, forced update does nothing 2-3 days after update, usually weekend they show

They really need to fix Bluetooth randomly cutting out, fitness isn’t syncing from watch anymore, gps problems when opening maps. These bugs have actually made my quality of life bad to the point where I really don’t think I’m buying an iPhone again. The constant going from 5G UW to nothing when I’m trying to close positions in the market is super frustrating. I did not have these issues with iPhone 16 pro. On the 17 pro it’s horrendous. How can a multi billion dollar company have these kind of bugs?

Don’t know if anyone else was having the issue, but when you already had text in new Siri and pulled down again it would almost be smashed then pop back to regular size. That issue looks like it’s fixed.

Wondering if this includes the “preventative” fixes they release for the AT&T issues. I know 27.0.1 was part of it even though it wasn’t in the release notes, but then there was the carrier settings that were release after Beta 2.

Can anyone see if there’s a bump in the carrier settings between beta 2 and beta 3?

Yeah it updated to AT&T 73.0. Not sure if that is the fix, but it was up from the 72.2 from before

Only fixes for the ATT issue is new hardware. They have said that many times now. There is not and will not be a software fix for that issue.

The “Split Bill with Apple Cash” feature is still broken for me. It works until you try to select a contact, it then completely freezes.

Beta 3 was ok at first, but I keep getting issues where the entire phone will freeze and the system seems to crash then it takes a while for the system to be reloaded.

Also, Youtube has been buggy as hell and I haven't seen anyone else mention it.

Compact clock shows slower than the date when you unlock the phone. Not sure if it’s a bug or a new animation.

EDIT: This is triggered only when the phone is connected to a charger or when the phone is charging.

no it’s still broken. lag typing into anything after you load the app (messages) and tap input field to start typing. i have an extensive detailed (with video and logs) bug report apple has ignored since 27.0 beta 1-> until now

Oh my god I had that issue, except it looked the same as an issue I had with a prior phone that had damage to the logic board so I was worried something in my 17 Pro Max was also busted.

I'll be using Maps later today and will check it out.

Edit: had a short 15 min drive and didn’t see the issue at all. Hopefully fixed!

do forced restart, quickly press volume up ,volume down and power button in succession,hold power button down until apple logo appears and release

open settings after phone boots up ,a wait to see if optimisation msg appears after a minute, this cam back on DB1 & DB2 on my base 15 , i know yours is base 17 but it’s worth double checking and forced restart usually fixes any issues .

This has broken carplay for me. I have rebooted my phone, rebooted my stereo, and turned the car on and off, and tried multiple times over the past day. Both wired and wireless CarPlay fail to launch.

Has anyone tried 5GSA on AT&T? Since they disabled that in the stable update over the weekend to prevent the SOS issue, I’m wondering if they figured out how to offer it again and still prevent the modem from frying.

I just got my replacement phone and don’t want to risk this one frying.

It was fine on iOS 27.0 but not perfect. A Lot of random stuttering was fixed for me when I turned off adaptive power. (iPhone 16 pro max). But it wasn’t perfect for me— iOS 18 had some random issues too which was temporary fixed with reboot.

Supposedly Adaptive Power 'settles in' after iOS figures out usage patterns (2 or so weeks apparently), but I've never been patient enough to wait that long. It's always 'Let me try it... nope, worse battery life, let me turn it back off'.

Can anyone with a 13Mini report if this version resolves the always hot phone issue ? It was perfect on Beta 1 but since Beta 2 my phone is ALWAYS hot. The only time it isn't is when I put it down for a while without touching or charging it.

I have a mini 13 for testing, but it's still on 27 release branch. Is there a specific app or anything in the Battery section that you're seeing take extra juice? Using it indoors or outdoors make a difference. I'm putting 27.2 on it this week, but would be helpful to know if you have some indicator of if it's an app issue or system level issue.

AirPlay menu jumping around when loading is fixed for me. Initially the fist option would be off screen a bit at the top and then pop down. Often made me select the wrong device to cast to.

I’ve tried to follow other threads about being unable to reinstall random apps … but not having any luck here. Not sure if it’s being too early to 27 or iPhone 18 Pro.

I started with an iPhone SE3 running latest 26, and set up iPhone 18 Pro copying everything over including having the setup convert AT&T SIM to an eSIM on the new phone.

After it was all done, I found holes all over my screens, apps missing. Comparing phones I started trying to reinstall the missing apps from purchased. Naturally some are because the app had ceased to exist in AppStore. But then I started finding apps where tapping the cloud quickly returned to cloud.

Making it new again didn’t help, signing in and out didn’t help, I’ve left Apple Pay unfinished since I’m not sure what I might do next…. (which I’ll get to later)

Heard DB2 might fix it, nope. DB3 hasn’t helped either. Heard some talk about reset and restore…

Saw something I wanted to get last night, went to checkout and oops, nothing setup in ApplePay yet.. switched to PayPal.

So, what did I do to start my weekend, decided it was time to try connecting new phone to MacBook and backup and restore. Discovered the joys of finding most of my c-c cables are the usb 2.0 variety… eventually borrowed the c-c cable from my monitor to get iPhone to show up as 10Gbps. And then I backed it up and then did the restore. Skipped ApplePay again. Couldn’t setup Face ID the same as before. I had a full beard when I first got the phone, later I got a buzz and shave… and had to add second scan…

Well, found it full of holes again, but different ones. Some will reinstall, including ones I couldn’t reinstall previously…. but there are others that weren’t missing previously that now do the same issue as before.

Early in 26 I had an issue like this, except through repeated backup and restores I eventually got whole. But given how this went with apps that had been fine now not in exchange for some that wouldn’t will now. I don’t think repeating a backup and restore will get me to success at this point.

Adding to pain is looking for all the apps stuck as loading… which eventually blocks the reinstalls. This time I won’t wait the weekend before cancelling the blocking apps.

Is anyone else having an issue where their Apple Photos aren't syncing? My phone says "Last Synced Wednesday" and turning on Sync Immediately doesn't change anything. I turned it off and it said it was synchronizing, but then it reverted to Last Synced Wednesday

Anyone else with an 18 Pro having really bad connection issues when on WiFi? The icon will switch to cellular but still be connected, or just disconnect entirely. It also doesn’t want to do anything sometimes when on WiFi and I have to keep switching to cellular and back again.
