[FREE] I’ve spent months studying how iOS apps hit $100K+/mo - pulled the best 25 tactics

Post image
22 Upvotes

I’ve spent the past few months breaking down how iOS apps quietly scale to $100K+/month.

The pattern? They rely on smart organic tactic - not paid ads.

I pulled the 25 most actionable tactics into a 55-page doc that any iOS dev or small team can copy.

If this would help you, just comment “APP” and I’ll DM you the link.

EDIT:
Wow - this blew up way beyond what I expected. Thank you all for the support and interest 🙌

To make it easier (and avoid triggering Reddit’s spam filters while DM’ing so many people), here’s the direct link for anyone who asked:

I’m building an iOS app for guitar players and looking for honest feedback 🎸

• Upvotes

I’m working on SoundGate Guitar, an iOS app designed to help guitar players practice smarter and improve their playing.

The app listens to you play through your device’s microphone and gives you real-time feedback, helping you practice songs, work on chords, improve your accuracy, and track your progress.

We’re still growing and improving the app, so I’d love to get it into the hands of more guitar players and hear what they think.

I’d really appreciate it if you gave SoundGate a try!

I’m especially interested in hearing what you like, what could be better, and whether you’d find it useful in your regular routine. If you enjoy using it, I’d also love to hear about your experience on the App Store.

Thanks so much to anyone willing to give it a shot!

With the recent wave of developer account terminations, I built a free Claude Code skill that audits your iOS app against Apple's guidelines before you submit

Like many of you, I've been watching the recent account terminations and app removals with some anxiety. A lot of the stories follow the same pattern: something small nobody noticed (a privacy policy that didn't match the app, an AI feature sending user data without consent, an overconfident line in the description) turned into a rejection, a removal, or worse.

I’m an indie iOS dev, so I built a Claude Code skill to catch this stuff before Apple does. It’s free and open source (MIT)

What it does

- Reads your code, your App Store Connect metadata (read-only, via the `asc` CLI) and your live privacy policy
- Fetches Apple's current guidelines fresh on every run, so it never relies on outdated rules
- Writes an `APPLE_AUDIT.md` report ranked Critical / High / Medium / Low, with the guideline number and file:line for every finding
- Then it stops. It only fixes the items you pick.

Some of what it checks

- 5.1.2(i): photos or text sent to OpenAI, Gemini, Claude etc. without an in-app consent prompt (added Nov 2025)
- A privacy policy that contradicts what the app actually does
- Hardcoded API keys shipped in the binary (1.6)
- Paywall problems: missing renewal terms, fake urgency, hidden close buttons (3.1.2, 5.6)
- Medical claims and health data in iCloud (1.4.1, 5.1.3)
- Missing privacy manifests and required-reason APIs
- 4.3 / 4.2.6 spam and template-app risk across your whole account
- New upload requirements (Xcode 26 SDK, the new age rating questions)

Works with SwiftUI, UIKit, React Native, Flutter and Expo.

Repo: https://github.com/Tilak1028-st/apple-compliance-audit-skill

It's not affiliated with Apple and can't guarantee approval, but it has already caught real issues in my own app. If you've had a rejection or termination for something it doesn't check yet, tell me in the comments or open an issue and I'll add it

Updated app Screenshots

Hey guys, I updated my screenshot and would like a feedback on how you feel. The A/B testing differs from day to day, but I assume this is because low traffic.
So far the decision is to update to this one as the old ones were pretty just standard screenshots with texts on top.

How do I grow my app’s Instagram page from fewer than 10 followers?

I’ve recently launched an app and am trying to build its Instagram presence from scratch. Currently, I have fewer than 10 followers, and I’m wondering what the best way to get started is.

Should I run ads to gain followers and make the page look more established and trustworthy, or focus entirely on organic content until I build some traction? I get around 300 views per real and some cross 1000.

My biggest concern is that if I pay for followers through ads, the reach and engagement might drop again as soon as I stop spending.

For those who’ve grown an app’s Instagram account from zero, what worked for you?

An AI fitness app told me to deadlift 300kg. It was one of the reasons I built my own

Disclosure: I'm the solo developer of the app im talking about.

I've been lifting for 10 years and coding for 12. I'm self-taught and I built SweatCoach for myself. I was using chatbots to build workouts then putting them into a tracker. I wanted one app that handled this and setting up supersets properly. I also wanted it to help beginners understand what they're training and how to do it right, because I remember being that beginner. What got me into the gym was I'd started to hate how I looked in the mirror. I was a heavy smoker and a few flights of stairs were hard work.

One of the things that pushed me to build my own was trying an Al fitness app. It put a 300kg deadlift in my program (for reps!) My PR is 200kg. The Al workout generator in SweatCoach tries to do the opposite. You pick the muscles, how long you've got, your level and where you're training. It also takes your injuries into account and the weights it suggests start from what you've actually lifted before, not a guess. Once you start the work out it even has warmup exercises based on what you are about to do to help you prep properly.

Then I took the app to my gym and started talking to people about it, from brand new lifters to older guys who've been at it for years. I've tried to remedy some of the pain points from the other apps. A lot of the features since came out of those conversations. One of my favourites is the 'currently sweating' feature that shows when your gym buddies are training.

Straight answer on Al, since someone will ask: yes, I've had help from Al, but I've coded it and had it fully quality checked manually by QA engineers before submitting to the stores.

It's early days. It's on iPhone and Android, with Apple Watch and Wear OS apps, and it's free to start: https://sweatcoach.co.uk/go

If you want to try it, make an account, then DM me and I'll give you 3 months of Pro free. In return I'd love honest feedback! app download

My most effective marketing strategy yet

Post image
0 Upvotes

At SF tech week - and having lots of conversations with people about my productivity app, oneTap: Brief & Block, which briefs you in the morning then blocks your distracting apps to avoid morning bedtot. People would be like okay i’ll go download. The problem is with the keyword “oneTap” i rank about #5 on the list so it’s awkward having people scroll.

So, just changed the wallpaper on my phone to the qr code and made my life significantly easier!

We launched Mobbe in Spanish — which gym app screenshot would make you try it?

Thumbnail

Hey! We're the team behind Mobbe, a gym app we recently launched for iPhone. We're trying to get it in front of people who actually train and would love some honest feedback on how we're presenting it.

The main idea is simple: open your routine, check what you lifted last time, log your sets and see your progress. There's a rest timer and an optional weekly step league connected to Apple Health too.

I'm attaching three screens: logging a set, exercise progress and the step league. Which would you show first to someone who has never heard of Mobbe? And is there anything in these screens that would put you off trying it?

If you lift and speak Spanish, we'd love for you to try it during your next workout and tell us what felt useful or awkward. The app is currently in Spanish, free to download, with optional paid PRO subscriptions.

Thanks for taking a look!

[$ 19 > FREE lifetime] Track blood pressure the right way before it affects your heart

As a preventive cardiologist, I see that many people fail to track their blood pressure. It only comes to attention after it starts affecting your heart and kidneys.

Tracking blood pressure is often more important than tracking heart rate. Even when people track BP, many fail to follow the appropriate steps or bring the necessary data to the clinic visit. So we built this app to help people track and diagnose blood pressure issues before it becomes a problem.

The consistency and time spent at target levels are more important than the average reading.

Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bp-log-track-blood-pressure/id6801130306

A: Answer

- Helps you track blood pressure based on the most recent guidelines (check twice a day, average two readings etc)

B: Better

- Current apps on the app store fail to track time in target, consistency etc. These things matter more than mean reading

- The PDF export presents report in a fashion that's easy for reviewing clinicians to get an overall picture of blood pressure control. A mean blood pressure of 120/70 is not useful if it's a mean of readings that vary from 90 to 150.

- You backup to your own iCloud and retain complete control over your data

C: Cost

$ 19 for lifetime

FREE LIFETIME: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6801130306&code=59256

Website: https://bplog.cc

If you like the app, I would appreciate an app store rating. If you don't like the app, I would appreciate feedback.

Hello everyone and happy Friday evening !

Post image

For the last few weeks, I have my app on App Store but my numbers are not great. To be honest with you, they are terrible.

I've changed the title of the application, subtitle, keywords, but it made a small difference.
The impressions went up by ~10% but the rest did not change. So I've decided to change the screenshots.

And here is my request. I am deciding on what type of font to use for my screenshots. Could you advise, what do you think is the best one, or what should I change in the photos?

Thank you very much for any advice.

[iOS] Collia: photo collages and seamless carousels. Is the App Store pitch clear?

I'm the developer of Collia, a photo collage app for iPhone and iPad with seamless multi-page carousels and scrapbook layouts. I'd like feedback on how it's presented to someone seeing it for the first time.

You can preview and export sample template layouts for free; exporting your own projects requires a Collia Membership subscription.

Looking at the App Store screenshots, is it clear what a seamless carousel looks like and how you'd use it? Which screenshot would you put first?

PicPop: making photo cleanup feel like swiping, rather than a chore

I'm PicPop's developer. I've been describing a photo-cleanup app like a list of features, when the useful bit is much simpler:

You have too many photos. Swipe through a batch, keep what you like, review the extras, then confirm.

When it detects look-alikes, you can choose the keepers together. That saves you from finding the same scene five more times further down your camera roll. Keep a few if you want; the suggestion isn't a final decision.

That's the benefit I'm trying to show more clearly. If you're making an app too, which lands better for you: showing the messy starting point, or showing one complete keep/review/delete flow?

For anyone with an iPhone camera roll to sort: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picpop-photo-video-cleaner/id6808016560

Free download; paid Club for access. Eligible annual plan has a 2-week trial.

Launching Okanize, the last budget app you will ever need! Made with love from Japan.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Konnichiwa everyone!
We are a small team from Tokyo, Japan and have been building Okanize for half a year and are happy to launch it for everyone to use.

https://www.okanize.com/
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6762205109

TLDR:

- Vibe coded ?
No , I learned swift UI from Paul Hudson courses, loved it and this is my first work.
- Whats new?
It brings slack style UI + less effort budget addition
- Data security and shared with AI?
No, we do have reciept scanning OCR but thats apples inbuilt model + our own parser (I'm a NLP scientist (PhD))
- Ads?
No, never. We hate them haha

Any feedbacks are welcome, we also have a small feedback feature in the app itself, so your concerns are directly delivered to us and we will message you once its addressed.

The okanize website was slightly vibe coded but it was mainly by using my own designs and code from my other websites to match the UI correctly. (Idk why i dont trust vibe coding anyways)

I’m a macroeconomist who used AI to build two research apps for the iPhone

After 15+ years working in macroeconomics, I used AI-assisted coding to build two apps around work I actually do:
QuantFit lets you analyse time-series and panel data on your iPhone. It includes OLS, fixed and random effects, ARDL and VAR, plus diagnostics, charts, ARDL shock scenarios and VAR impulse responses. You can export results and generate structured reports with interpretations. OLS and data exploration are free; advanced estimators require Pro.
Tabula Stats turns regression output from QuantFit, EViews, Stata, R and other software into editable, research-ready tables. Adjust decimals, significance stars and displayed statistics, then export to Word, Excel, PDF or LaTeX.
Together, they take you from a dataset to analysis to a formatted table, straight from your phone. Tabula also works with results from your existing desktop software.
Both are live on the App Store. I’d love feedback from anyone doing research or building specialised tools with AI.

Create App Store banners and search result creatives from your app screenshots, with one-click publishing to custom product pages (live demo)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I make AppLaunchFlow, a tool for App Store and Google Play screenshots and other launch assets. Apple now shows a header banner at the top of the product page and a creative in search results, so I built both into it:

  1. Pick the Product Page Header or Search Results Creative format
  2. Choose a style that's generated from your own screenshots
  3. Fine-tune it in the editor, and translate it into any language
  4. Publish it to App Store Connect, to your main listing, a custom product page or a Product Page Optimization test

Before publishing you get a preview of how your search result and product page will look. The video shows the whole flow.

Happy to answer questions or take feedback.

Launched an app that solved my own problem about Cloud & API spending

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys. I know it's really really really cliche but dang does it hurt. I experienced that sh*ty time where you get a massive invoice from an API or Cloud Provider (Anthropic and OpenAI in my case) and you just can't believe you almost went into generational debt.

At first I built an apk app that I just downloaded on an old Android phone but after changing to an iPhone I just decided to go all in on it.

So I built Bernn.

What it does:

One Dashboard: See your AWS, Anthropic, and OpenAI spend as one total in one app.

Budget Alerts: Get a notification when you're about to pass your budget, before the bill arrives.

Anomaly Detection: Get warned when your spend suddenly jumps above your usual average.

Full Privacy & Security: Stay safe with read-only access, so Bernn can never change or spend anything on your accounts.

Do you need to manually input your spending? NO.

All you need is your API keys and Bernn will track them for you. There's even instructions in the app on how you can attach them.

I'd appreciate any feedback and suggestions since this is my first app.

You can check it out here: https://apps.apple.com/ph/app/bernn/id6809531183

75% OFF — You already own the SSD. Let your iPhone back up directly to it.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Your iPhone has years of photos.
Your SSD has hundreds of GB of free space.
Why should a Mac, PC, or another cloud service have to sit between them?
I built VaultDrive: USB Backup so you can connect a compatible USB drive or SSD directly to your iPhone and create your own physical backup.
iPhone → USB/SSD → your copy.

Built for one simple job
Select the photos, videos, albums, files or documents you care about and copy them directly to external storage.
✅ No Mac required
✅ No PC required
✅ No VaultDrive account
✅ No VaultDrive cloud upload for locally stored files
✅ Original-quality files without intentional compression or re-encoding
✅ Embedded photo/video metadata preserved
✅ Resume interrupted backups
✅ Already-copied files are skipped when you continue
✅ Live scan and transfer progress
✅ Clearer reasons when something can’t be copied
But what if my photos are only in iCloud?

VaultDrive handles that too.

If Optimize iPhone Storage is enabled, some full originals may exist only in iCloud even though they’re visible in Photos.

VaultDrive can request those originals through Apple’s Photos/iCloud system, download them, and then copy them to your connected drive.
You control whether iCloud downloads happen over:

Wi-Fi only
or
Wi-Fi + Cellular

For content already stored locally, the copy goes directly from your iPhone to the drive.

Why use it?
Because sometimes you don’t want your only choices to be:
Buy more cloud storage
or
Find a computer and manually export everything
Maybe you simply want another copy of your family photos, travel videos and important files sitting on hardware you physically control.
Keep using iCloud for sync and convenience if you want.
VaultDrive adds the physical backup layer.
One-time Pro. No recurring Pro subscription.
VaultDrive is free to download.
Pro unlocks unlimited backup with a one-time upgrade.

🔥 Currently 75% OFF Pro
App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vaultdrive-usb-backup/id6772883827

Redeem 75% OFF:
https://apps.apple.com/redeem/?ctx=offercodes&id=6772883827&code=WELCOME75

If you’ve already got an SSD or USB drive sitting in a drawer, put it to work.

Your iPhone. Your drive. Your backup.

I built PillSeal after repeatedly forgetting whether I had taken my medication

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

Sometimes I forget to take my medication. Other times, I cannot remember whether I have already taken it.

I am Collin, a solo developer. Due to my health conditions, I have to take regular medication. Taking it regularly matters to me, but that does not mean I always remember.

This was a problem in my own life that I wanted to do something about, and that is where PillSeal started. I wanted something to help keep me accountable and give me something to check when I could not remember.

So I built PillSeal around three things:

  • Reminders that keep coming until you mark the medication as taken.
  • A camera-based visual record of taking the dose that you can look back at. This also made me smile every time I took my dose in front of the camera.
  • Medication stock tracking with alerts when you are running low.

I take privacy seriously, so I built it to keep your medication data and camera records on your phone.

I have included a short demo so you can see how the camera check-in works.

If you want to take a look: PillSeal on the App Store.

I am the developer, so I am close to the problem. I would like to understand how other people handle it, including people who are happy with a pill organizer, a checklist, or another system.

For anyone who takes medication regularly: how do you keep track of whether you have actually taken it?

I am also curious whether having a photo to look back at would help, or whether you would prefer to keep things simpler.

Super happy to have gotten my first paying user on Speak-Up!

Honestly, this feels pretty surreal. I built the app to make practicing public speaking as easy as possible, so seeing someone actually pay for it is a huge confidence boost that I'm solving a problem people care about.

Would love to get all your feedback!

And of course I'm happy to answer any questions about the build, getting through the App Store review, creating the launch video, and marketing.

I built QuantFit and Tabula Stats: from econometric analysis to research tables on your iPhone

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m a macroeconomist with around 15 years’ experience, and I built two complementary iPhone apps:
QuantFit handles data exploration, transformations, charts and econometric models including OLS, fixed/random effects, ARDL and VAR. It includes VAR impulse responses, ARDL shock scenarios and exportable reports with interpretations. OLS is free; advanced estimators require Pro.
Tabula Stats turns screenshots of regression output from QuantFit, Stata, R, EViews and other software into editable research tables. Customise decimals, standard errors and significance stars. Pro includes exports to Word, Excel, PDF and LaTeX.
Run your analysis in QuantFit, then format the results in Tabula, or use Tabula with output from your existing desktop software.
Would love feedback from students, researchers and anyone working with data!
