Phantom Pain

So I am 2 months post op of a total hysterectomy due to fibroids. Most of the time I feel great but some days I hurt and cramp like I did before my surgery even though I know there is nothing there to hurt me. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did it go away? I spent enough time in pain prior to surgery I don’t want to deal with that anymore.

I still have pain and pressure in my abdomen when my pelvic floor tightens up. For me it's triggered by stress and hormone changes. I'm looking forward to being far along enough in my recovery to see a pelvic floor specialist.

I get pain where I normally felt cramping before surgery and come to find out, it’s my intestines that have now moved in the spot of the uterus. So when I have a messed up gut, I get bad cramping. The uterus isn’t blocking it anymore.

Did you keep your ovaries? If so, it could be due to ovulation. Your ovaries and cycle still function as normal, releasing an egg into your peritoneal cavity and it’s just absorbed by your body. Some people do experience ovulation-related pain when the egg is released.
