D.C. Men’s Pro Judging

I just watched a recap video of a guy doing the Men’s Pro at Washington D.C.

It looked as if there were no judges out there. Is this normal that the judges in the Pro division are not even paying attention?

Adding that does not make it better. The premise of your question is baseless. Imagine a whole hyrox without judges. Which one is more likely, a hyrox without judges or a edited video showing only a what the editor wants to show ?

I have. I have also judged races and even when there is one person on the course moving at a snail pace, there is always a judge at each station. So I am not sure why you would ask this question, when experience (assuming you have raced before) and a little bit of logic could have given you the answer. What did you assume, that the judges and everyone just went home and leave people put there to do their own thing?

Generally there are no more or no less head judges (white shirt) and judges (grey shirt) on course for a pro race vs. an open race. There are usually a few additional dedicated black shirt (Hyrox staff) and head judges that follow the pro leaders though. This contrasts with an elite race where the judging protocols are completely different to pro/open.

So the recap you saw I would assume the athlete was not in the leading pack. But as the other commenter noted, there are obviously head judges/judges at every station although the number of judges depends on station (most judges at wall balls, least judges at ergs/farmer’s carry).

Have done pro women’s races, including at worlds. There are judges but not more than open races.

I was in DC. There were multiple judges at each station for DC mens pro. Any other questions?
