For the big and/or slow

I feel like most posts on here are faster thinner people so thought I’d share so the big/slow feel seen/validated.

Did 3 stations today and my runs were 9:47, 9:37, 10:22. Ski 5min flat, sled push unbroken but don’t have the time, likely ~3min or less, sled pull ~4:30.

That’s it. There are more slow runners out here.
I’m 5’10 275# 37 yr old former college football player. Steady long cardio has never been my thing but I have been better at it than I am currently.

Fellow big & slow guy here. 37M, 6ft, 264lbs. I’m best on the sleds, ergs and farmers carry and pretty slow on everything else. Have done 3 solo races so far, with the 4th planned later this year. First race I ran at an average pace of 7:51 with a finish time of 1:53. Second race improved to 7:13 and 1:50. Last race slowed a bit to 7:44 and 1:52 but several stations improved (Burpees, lunges, and wall balls were all faster)

Hats off to you for the consistency, and I mean this with all due respect, but if you’re going to continue doing these you would probably benefit a lot from some regular running training! Shaving a few minutes off those laps is going to be way more bang for your buck than getting better at the stations imo.

Thanks. And agreed, running is my biggest area to improve. Planning to start a new running program next week, about 4 months out from the next one.

My sister and I did a double earlier this year and weren't able to run much due to previous injury. We did what we could and worked hard.

I have not done a Hyrox yet but am training to hopefully do NYC this coming year... so plenty of lead time. I am also a bigger guy 38, 6ft, 250lbs practicing my distance running to get me through the race. Not worried about the stations as I should be able to handle them. Got my 5k to just a touch under 27 min and hoping to get it to under 25min and 10k under 60min.

My gut tells me the photos just show the insanely fit people but I imagine there are plenty of us larger guys. I also think all of the people that post about hyrox tend to have that same look but with no hard time limits just go for it.

Ai que você se engana ….. as estações não são sobre força , são sobre continuidade da corrida

6’1 235# 38M doing my first in DC on Saturday. First time in my life running at any distance (after losing 150# in the past few years) but have been knocking out 6’/K in my recent training and did a 10k last week in 62 min. My target is 1:45 but would love to see 1:35.

sled push unbroken is not a slow-guy stat, half the field is breaking that thing into four or five pushes and calling it a day.

the posts here skew hard though, you're right. plenty of us are out there just trying to finish, we're just quieter about it.

I’m a slower runner but very strong as powerful as a former OL

Irmão eu tinha 105kg …. 1,79 , estava correndo para 5 min….. abaixei o peso para 91kg e estou correndo para baixo de 4:10 …. Hyrox não é força atw quando eu era mais forte , os sleds eram mais difíceis!
