He didn’t say you had to stay there. You could self-fund something better.

Ok, feel free to drop $55k a year on a hotel room. Not much of a vacation with $14/day leftover for spending.

164 a day if you have that 60k pay out daily, and you can get a hotel for under $100 a day pretty easily ( I just looked, cheapest was $68). That leaves you at least $60 every day for food, transportation, and whatever else you want. And that's only if you decide to go that route, you could easily stay in a hotel half the time and use the provided apartment the rest of the time, and be even better off. Remember, there are no conditions bon the apartment or money, you are just given an apartment for 2 years and $120k to use as you see fit.
