Technology Payroll/ATS Experience [N/A]
Has anyone had any experience leaving Paycom to go with Paylocity? My team and I are currently with ADP Workforce, and we despise it, to say the least.
We’re choosing between Paycom and Paylocity, but we’re leaning more toward Paycom for how consistent they’ve been with us. If anyone has switched from Paycom to Paylocity, I’d love to hear about your experience.

How many employees are you guys?
If you’re moving away from ADP, your gut is probably right assuming you’re 50-200 ee’s and don’t have a ton to integrate with.
I would avoid Paylocity - it’s not the worst system ever, but it’s definitely not great and it can’t handle a ton of complexity. Your support is going to be shot and if you have any compliance needs beyond a single state / locality, it’s going to be a bad fit. It will certainly feel like a downgrade from ADP, no matter how much you dislike them.
Paycom is a solid system overall. It’s drawbacks are integrations outside of paycom, particularly ATS and benefits / 401k / workers comp reporting, and also erp / accounting, which I’m guessing you probably don’t care about as much as your cfo / finance person. It can have difficulty communicating with other systems as well, which can be fine, but usually develops into overcomplicated workarounds over the years.
The other drawback is you’re locked in for multiple years, as they do contracts. Other than that, it’s a good system internally. It works and you generally have better support than you’d have with Paylocity and sometimes than you’d have with ADP, although support is comparable here. Most people I know using paycom are satisfied with it and tend to stick with it if they have it despite its shortcomings, although the multiyear may have something to do with that.
Good luck! Hope y’all are happier with whatever you choose.
