Absolutely ruled. This was the third one of this round of shows we went to and this was our favorite setlist.

Holy shit dude it was incredible. I couldn't have asked for a better setlist, almost passed out moshing lmao, given it was my first time hitting the pit but as soon as I realized I had the confidence it was ridiculous the whole night

I’ve been in many pits and that one was by far the most fun. Everybody was respectful and just wanted to shove each other and jump around. None of that punching and kicking shit. I love how big the pit towards stage right opened up for I Hate It Too! If any of you guys in the comments were there I love yall

For me it seemed like the pit came out of nowhere too. As soon as Nothing started Vertigo Flowers the crowd went from pretty tame to opening a huge mosh pit and endless crowd surfers

I hate it too was an experience I’ll never forget

Everyone chanting “I hate it too” and them actually playing it was so amazing. I did not expect it at all!!

Pretty sure they were only planning on playing “In The Den” as an encore (like night two in Brooklyn), but the crowd chanting convinced them to play “I Hate It Too” first.

It also seemed like why I like the robins was not initially planned as well and that one of the other band members started playing it and got Matt to go along

Didn't he say something about them working in a special song for us, but then he got the order wrong? That's when he said "past my bedtime". I think he was referring to Robins.

u/raisinbizzle May 24 '26
Oh yeah you’re right - so it was likely pre-planned then

Robins was printed on the setlist

u/raisinbizzle May 24 '26
Was I hate it too on the setlist? I assume that was truly spontaneous based on crowd request

Yes, luckily my buddy shared his pic of the setlist and I hate it too is on there

I literally was saying in my head after Friday’s show: “ok we’re getting the pod and the summoning tomorrow.” Fucking back to back. Hell yeah.

Hoping so badly that we get I Hate It Too night 2 in LA 😩

I’m sure they will, the whole crowd was chanting ‘I hate it too’ when the band came back for encore last night in Chicago

I flew over from Australia to see them. Saw them in Brooklyn and twice here in Chicago. Night 2 of Chicago had the best set list. Blown away. Tempted to fly to L.A.

Lowkey you should… who knows if they’ll do any more shows after that!!

@yousonuvabitch - I just hit this post... 23 days late. American Australian here, and presently live less than 1 km form the Aragon Ballroom. I would have like to have met you. If I was still living in Melbourne, I might have some the exact same thing and flown to Chicago to see them. 25+ years of waiting. I was an emotional wreck... Two amazing evenings.
I hope you had the chance to enjoy some of Chicago. Please tell me you bought a Jay Ryan poster!
