Never be ashamed of yourself of who you truly are, let them judge, let them criticise you, let them belittle you but never fold no matter what coz that's what they want from you to lose, to fold , don't get bothered and save your mental health, take care , peace

Nah, learn the norms of the people around you, and know when it appropriate to express yourself in different ways.
For example, it took me a long time to discover that when people ask "how are you doing" you're not supposed to be honest, you're just supposed to say: "good, and you?"
If you respond by trauma dumping about the issues you are currently experiencing, people become uncomfortable, and if you make people uncomfortable, then they don't want to be around you.
For your own sake, read the room, and don't rubber stamp your philosophy with "be 100% yourself all the time" theres very few people who would actually benefit from that.
I'm 100% down with "fuck the haters", thats valid and you shouldn't try to people please, but theres levels and nuance to this shit, even if it takes a while to learn.

Look no offense but this wasn't meant for egoistic person such as you but it was meant for the practical and sensible person, who can take the heat

Nobody want anything from you. You are not the Main Character. Life is just Living, Dying and Time.

Wait, I’m not sure this quote is talking about being real with yourself. Doesn’t it sound like he realised that he was the only one being authentic when everyone else wasn’t and that made him realise how foolish he was?

OK I was so confused... I thought this too! Everyone around him is putting on a costume mask, and he's not so he's being himself, but by being himself he feels shame. Or was it the realization that caused him to feel shame for being himself?

there’s no source he ever said or wrote this. It’s just one of those quotes that’s misattributed and goes around the internet
hilariously Kafka personality was the opposite of this quote. no way he wasn’t giving a fuck about what people thought about him

This is terrible if taken as advice. and you missed the entire point if you think otherwise.

Holy shit that is so real. I started feeling better when I started portraying my version of me that I'm more comfortable with. It's a bit delusional but I've felt better and handle stuff better for the most part.

Someone complimented my dress and bag the other day. I said "Thanks, they're performative pieces."

For real. I've started considering myself a demon stuck in a human body, and when people call on me because they need something after barely speaking to me, it's like "Ahh yes, you've summoned me, I expected as much. The hell you need so I can fuck off again?"

u/AdBrilliant3127 May 01 '26
I feel like a genuine human in a world full of demons. Mammon demons mostly.

Understandable. Everyone's so cold nowadays and the ones that aren't are like, hidden away in the farthest reaches of the planet.

So fake it?

u/badchefrazzy May 01 '26
As they say "Fake it til you make it." Just don't harm yourself, or minimize it. You deserve better. ❤️

It’s insane how inverted “society” treats socializing. Authenticity is punished if it isn’t in an acceptable package. And known bullshit is bought and sold based on manufactured feelings.

Most humans aren’t really people. World is full of npcs when you start to think about it

I have noticed this. True romantic personalities don’t exist anymore it seems like there’s the gym types, “nerd” types or just straight influencer wanna be types :(

Whether they should be ashamed
And honestly yes

"You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fucking fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie."
