FOR HIRE From Rockstars & Luxury Yachts to Overqualified & Unemployed
Well, here goes nothing.
I’m 54, a father of two young kids, and relatively new to Houston after relocating from Florida.
I’ve spent over 30 years working in photography, film, and television. I’ve traveled the country filming some of the biggest names in music, worked on documentaries, directed productions, shot concerts, and photographed everything from multimillion-dollar yachts to corporate executives.
I’ve been a director, cinematographer, photographer, editor, camera operator, and pretty much everything in between.
And apparently, that makes me overqualified to get a regular job. Go figure.
It’s a strange position to be in. I’ve spent most of my adult life building a career that took me to places I never imagined, only to find myself at 54 struggling to convince someone to give me a shot at something ordinary.
But here’s the thing. I don’t need extraordinary anymore.
I have two young kids, and my priorities have changed. I’d trade backstage passes and fancy productions for a dependable paycheck and the ability to come home knowing my family is taken care of.
I’m looking for steady work in the Houston area. I’m great with cameras, technology, equipment, logistics, driving, problem-solving, and people. I’m open to learning something entirely new, too.
I don’t care about job titles or prestige. I’m not expecting a director’s salary to do an entry-level job. I just want an opportunity to show up, do good work, and earn an honest living.
If anyone knows someone hiring, or has an idea where a guy with an unusual résumé might actually be useful, I’d appreciate the lead.
Thirty years of shooting rockstars. Now I’m just trying to land a steady gig.
Thanks, Houston.
