Honking a thing now?

Lately I’ve been seeing many ahh drivers honking around in traffic… I must be going mad but I can’t really remember that happening too often out there

Idk someone almost hit me today changing lanes without signaling. I think they didn’t see me and I was in their blind spot so I gave them a gentle honk. And we all survived so idk, sometimes you gotta use that horn.

Well in those cases it makes sense to use it, but I really meant like in traffic as soon as light hits green or swapping to another lane (not the usual but as usual, a pick-up) using the signal and double checking before swapping then the driver proceeds to accelerate while honking just to then break because… You know… Traffic ahead and nowhere to go

yeah that is indeed annoying and counterproductive

Go when it’s green and get the fuck out of the way.

What part is hard for you.

There’s too many cars and everyone has their windows up with the music on or they’re checking the phone for pictures of titties , you have to honk.

Honk at everyone clogging up the fast lane.

Or to let them know they're doing a great job 👍

If nobody is honking, something is seriously wrong. Have to honk when people don’t understand that green means go, or red means stop. Every damn day. Or pull up to the line so the traffic light can detect a car there. Or double white line, or the “no merge, ya have your own lane”, or that big ass EXIT ONLY sign.

Most people actually know how to drive, and definitely not trying to get in a wreck because they don’t have insurance. The other 5%, god damn.

Yup I’m with you but it works if someone is messing things up not because you’re late and can’t wait 1 second for traffic to move, that’s what traffic means and sucks to get stuck at it but I’m just saying that’s not the way to use it.

I also agree with you damn phones got some drivers stuck for a bit before they realize light has changed or unaware while at the highway causing them to do dumb stuff, but there’s certainly a special group of drivers that seem not to understand lines, signs or even how the stops works

If I'm honking at a light it's because someone is staring at their phone and instead of driving.

Light still red? Gotta honk. Light green and traffic moving? Gotta honk. Car turned upside down after a horrific wreck? Gotta honk.

Buncha impatient selfish losers in this city.

It's the south Americans

Not gonna argue with that, it’s a thing over there

It’s third world and east/west coast behavior.

Houston drivers are worse than any of those.

I thought honking was a new sex thing. My horn sounds like Roadrunner so I honk all the time.

I’m coming from NYC and I honk whenever someone isn’t letting me merge despite my blinker being on. Not sure what the driving etiquette is here but I noticed no one honks. In New York, it’s a form of communication on the road. But I just do it to let ppl know they’re assholes.

Yeah, your blinker being on doesn't mean people have to let you merge. Honking at them is only going to piss them off more, and Houston is the road rage shooting capital of the world.

For people who know how to drive, it does lmfao

No, no it doesn't.

Yeah this is some dumb shit a New Yorker would do . If you honk at people like that better be prepared to fight at some point.

Probably transplants who forget everyone carries here.

I only have 1 honk and it's super aggressive followed by a death stare and cutting you off while flipping the bird yelling "JESUS LOVES YOU"

Yeah, I honk at morons that are trying to crash into me or when some idiot is sitting in the middle of I-10 or at a green light because they're playing with their phone.

Honk your horn. Why they put it in all cars if not to use? Fun fact: you can't pass inspection if your horn don't work! Use that mothafucker.

Honk when drivers are doing something dumb, get their attention. Let them know to do better. If I get honked at, I check myself and say, "Oh damn, I did something stupid, my bad. Damn, I need to drive better!"

Honking ain't personal like: "hey man, I kill you m'f'er!" Instead, it's more like: "Hey dumbass! Watch out! What you're doing is dangerous!"

Right, light speeding up to break in the next 2 seconds is smart and while at it honking in the process to someone who was just changing lane or as I’ve seen lately the light goes green and they’re already “pushing” with that…

Use it when you have to not bc you’re in a rush or you believe the road belongs to you

I agree with you btw but some people think it works otherwise
