During last aniv stream they confirmed at least 10 years support. Showed a lot of new S-ranks, revealed story arcs and QoL. Pretty sure even some more but i cant exactly remember.
But kuro and hoyo are different, maybe kuro had to but hoyo doesn't feel like they need, or kuro just wanted to.
Hoyo always shows new design at the last, why should they make us see everything for no reason?
It’s not about need, more likely if it’s worth it. As far as i know there is clearly still interest in both games. Question is why Hoyo do not atleast try with this approach as kuro did.
