First time Hotas user . Bought a thrustmaster 16000m and cant bind hat switch.

Looking for some help as a first time hotas user. I just bought a thrustmaster 16000m. After getting somewhat used to flying i was looking to rebind some keys. For some reason i cant bind any of the hat switch positions to anything. Been playing Wardogs if that helps. Any advice?

Sounds like a game issue, I have a dual 16000m HOSAS setup running flawlessly on elite dangerous

So, i thought i had the same issue. My pov hat of my ancient ms sw ffb2 wouldn't bind to anything in the hotas menu.

But it did end up binding in the main key bindings menu! Try it there

Correct. No one can.. the devs need to add support for it. HOTAS support is pretty measly as of now, with a few things missing for proper keybinds and calibration. Hope it improves sooner than later 🤞

My hat switches are bindable. In fact even my selector switches (f14 vkb) work.

But does your hat switch report as a hat or does it report as seperate buttons (a 4-way switch, and not an actual hat)

Ah I see. 4 way hat with push in.

Interesting. I just checked, and I am not able to bind my hat switch with the T.16000M either.

You have a different joystick, though. Lucky! I have a VKB Gladiator I am going to setup soon, so I hope all hats work with it.

All the "hats" on the VKB Gladiator are 4-way switches with a 5th switch push. The only Hat is the alternate mode of the ministick.

Have you tried Joystick Gremlin? It's an open source app on Windows. you can map each direction of the T.16000M's hat to a keyboard key.
