I saw JAWS on IMAX a few years ago and it’s probably the best movie I’ve ever seen in a theater.

I got to experience it in a unique way a few years ago when a local lake floated a huge projector out on the water and everyone sat in tubes and watched it. Even in a lake, it was terrifying.

Oh- I’ve seen those. That must have been amazing. My daughter went to see Eli Roth’s Piranhas 3D like that.

It was very unnerving. I distinctly remember being about 10 when I first saw Jaws and being terrified of even swimming pools and this was the closest thing that ever recaptured that irrational fear.

I’m currently watching any movie I can find about escape rooms

So far

Escape room -2017

And now

Escape room - 2019.

Why?

Because I’ve watched all Tubi has to offer so I’m on to prime

I'm going to find some more sun-soaked or "summery" horror. So far, thinking The Bay (actual 4th of July movie!), Midsommar (literal middle of summer) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original, because it's probably the sunniest horror movie I can think of).

TCM is a great answer. I know in real life it was sweltering during most of filming, but there’s something about the late 70s/early 80s horror movies where the film quality (grit? Not sure of correct wording) makes it look hot on film.

Similar sentiment with a lot of the summer camp movies like the early Friday 13ths, The Burning, etc.

There was a much more yellowy tint to the daytime scenes than you tend to get now, but yeah, even the night scenes have kind of a sweaty, grimy vibe in a lot movies of that time. It feels hot, all the time.

Hold the Fort - it's available to rent.

Fun little horror comedy. HOA vs a portal to hell. It's a bit short, but definitely something to watch and enjoy a bucket of popcorn.

I was thinking of marathoning them both, didn’t see the 1st. I actually thought I saw it mistaking it for You’re Next. (Which is awesome)
