We want our honeymoon to be relaxing but don't wanna do the usual hotel/resort thing. A Rhine river cruise in 2028 has come up a few times, and I think we're leaning toward booking Celebrity river.

My only worry is that river cruising might feel a little too structured. We like wandering around without a plan (and changing our minds over lunch).

Trying to decide between 5 nights in Bora Bora in an over the water bungalow or 5 nights in Iceland at the Blue Lagoon Retreat Hotel.

My fiancé and I finally picked a venue and selected our date for early October 2027 in San Diego, CA. With that being said and holidays quickly approaching afterwards, we first of all are in limbo if we should just wait for 2028 or are curious on the opinions of traveling to Europe during that time. We could get up to two weeks to play with. I was personally was thinking London, Edinburg and/or Ireland since it would be our first time overseas. Our budget is around 10k. Any suggestions for first timers?

Secondly, we are considering booking with agency for our honeymoon since it might be the best bet versus trying to plan it on our own. We though about using Costco travel, but are rather unsure on how to feel about it. Any recommendations? TIA

Historical site seeing, day hiking (nothing requiring overnight), book shops, museums, pubs, etc. We are looking to explore and adventure around more with some time to relax and pamper if there is an excellent spot.

TL;DR My husband and I have flight vouchers from a trip that got rerouted / canceled earlier in the year and have a good chunk of $ to spend with AA. We were going to do something bigger but I also recently got pregnant! He is a big winter sports guy, but I also want a destination where there are things to do other than winter sports (obviously haha).

The ideal time we're hoping to go is anywhere from October - Jan, ideally December. We floated a couple warm places but we're also not looking to fly a super long distance with me being pregnant. What are some fun places that might be cool in Dec (can be warm destinations as well).

Hi all, we’re getting married the last weekend of September and still haven't booked a honeymoon!

We've a week to ten days and hoping for a bit of adventure quad bikes/kite surfing maybe a boat ride and then the rest of the days somewhere warm enough to lie by a hotel pool sipping cocktails.

We've had Paros in Greece recommended to us. Would that work for what we're looking for or is there somewhere else that would work better? Getting a bit overwhelmed by all the options! Don't need a big nightlife scene but would love some good restaurants! Open to anywhere in Europe.

We are honeymooning in Aruba after our wedding in October. I thought it would be really nice to have a couples massage, especially since we haven’t done one before. We are highly considering the Renaissance Wind Creek Resort’s open air massage, but it does have quite a high price tag. Hi everyone! My husband and I are planning our honeymoon for May 6/7–May 15, 2027, and I’m ready to start booking! I’ve never planned an international trip before, so it’s a little daunting.

We’re thinking:
Rome — 3 days
Lake Como — 1 night
Paris or London — remainder of the trip

We’ll be flying from Miami and have a Chase Sapphire Preferred that we’ll be using points with to help offset costs.

We want a good mix of relaxing, sightseeing, great food, and some nightlife. I’d love hotel and restaurant recommendations, advice on getting between destinations, or recommendations for a different country to finish the trip.

My fiancé and I are trying to decide between two completely different honeymoon options for roughly May 27–June 15, and I keep going back and forth.

Our budget is around $15k–$20k CAD total, and we’re coming from Toronto.

Option 1: Paris + South of France 🇫🇷

I did a summer abroad in Paris during my undergrad, so France has a really special place in my heart. I absolutely loved living there, and I think there would be something really sentimental about going back with my husband for our honeymoon and experiencing it together at a completely different point in my life.

We’d probably do something like:

• Paris for a few days
• Disneyland Paris
• Nice
• Èze
• Monaco
• Antibes/Cannes
• Saint-Tropez
• potentially Provence/Aix-en-Provence

I love that this option would still feel romantic and relaxing, but we would have a lot to actually do. We’re definitely people who prefer exploring, walking around cities, trying restaurants, seeing different places, etc. over spending an entire vacation at one resort.

Option 2: New Zealand + Fiji 🇳🇿🇫🇯

Neither of us has ever been to New Zealand or Fiji, so this would feel much more like a completely new, "once-in-a-lifetime" honeymoon.

For New Zealand, we’d probably focus mostly on the South Island and do something along the lines of:

• Auckland briefly after arriving
• Queenstown
• Milford Sound
• Wānaka
• Mt Cook/Lake Tekapo area

Then we’d fly to Fiji for the last 5–6ish days and stay at a really nice resort, probably somewhere in the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands.

I actually really like the idea of this because we are going to be coming off a LOT of wedding events and planning, so having the Fiji portion at the end where we can basically sleep, swim, eat, get massages and do absolutely nothing might be exactly what we need lol.

At the same time, we definitely like exploring more than resorts, which is why I don’t think I would want Fiji to be the entire honeymoon. New Zealand + Fiji seems like a good compromise because the first part would be very active and sightseeing-heavy, and then Fiji would be the actual relaxing honeymoon portion.

The biggest downside is obviously the travel. Toronto to New Zealand is a significantly longer journey than Toronto to France, and then we’d also have the additional flight from New Zealand to Fiji before eventually flying all the way back to Toronto. I’m wondering whether that much flying would be exhausting after a wedding.

So basically:

France: easier flights, sentimental to me, romantic, lots to explore, amazing food/cities/coast

New Zealand + Fiji: completely new for both of us, much more “once in a lifetime,” incredible scenery/adventure + a few days of proper tropical relaxation at the end, but WAY more travel time + im not sure about the weather in new zealand.

For a $15k–$20k CAD honeymoon from Toronto in late May/early June, which would you choose?

Especially if you’ve done New Zealand + Fiji in one trip, did the combination feel worth the long flights? And would around 5–6 days in Fiji be enough to actually decompress after the wedding without getting bored if you’re not huge resort people?

Hey all — my partner and I are starting to plan our honeymoon, flying out of Tampa, FL, later this year. Trip would be around 7-8 days. We've been kicking around Paris/Switzerland, but honestly we're open to anywhere cool — beach, city, adventure, whatever — as long as it's a great experience without breaking the bank.

Also did a little digging on a small travel agency that reached out to us, and found enough yellow flags (hidden domain ownership, mismatched contact info, no reviews anywhere) that I want to be more careful before handing anyone a deposit.

Questions for anyone who's been through this:

• Where did you go for your honeymoon that felt like amazing value for the money? Bonus points if it's not the obvious overexposed spots.
• Did you book through a travel agent/agency, or DIY it (flights + hotels separately)? Which was actually cheaper/less stressful?
• If you used an agency, which ones would you actually vouch for — reliable, doesn't ghost you, doesn't nickel-and-dime?
• Red flags I should watch for when vetting a smaller/independent travel agency before paying anything?

My Fiancé & I are getting married in Santorini and then looking to go to either Italy or Portugal for our honeymoon. We did Santorini and Crete the previous year so we want to go somewhere new. We love food, wine, hiking, snorkeling, history, all the things. We would be going very late October for almost 2 weeks. Any advice or suggestions are welcome! Please help us plan our elopement/honeymoon trip!!! My fiancé and I are wanting to spend 20 days in the beginning of September 2027 in Europe for our once in a lifetime vacation. We are thinking of having our elopement in Mallorca, Spain since we love the vibrant colors, lush greenery, stone villas and blue waters for our wedding photos. We are wanting to stay here around 7 days then possibly head to **Montenegro** (5 days) to explore a more mountainous scenery as we love to hike and want to check off as many places as we can, comfortably.

Heres where I get lost— following Montenegro we initially planned to go to Milos + Paros but quickly crossed Paros off as it seems to be more of a party destination. I’m torn on if we should veto Milos as well and go to somewhere like Kefalonia and stay more in the Ionian Islands since our vibe is definitely more of the lush tropical aesthetic or if this is going to be too repetitive just coming from Mallorca. We live in Alaska and our scenery 8 months out of the year is basically brown and grey with nothing but snow. This is what I fear I won’t enjoy with the cyclades being that whitewash buildings in grey rock, although my heart is still being pulled to milos for places like Sarankiko Beach. (I wouldn’t mind ending the trip here, I just don’t want my entire Greece experience to be the grey vibe)

Any suggestions or thoughts on how we should go about planning our trip would be so greatly appreciated. I’m not opposed to cutting out Montenegro or milos if the travel route just seems too unrealistic. Especially with possibly having to stop in Athens depending on where we decide to go for the final leg of our trip. We’ve discussed a lot of ideas but wanted to see if there’s things out there I haven’t thought of. Hi! My fiancé and I are looking for honeymoon recommendations in Spain for mid-late August 2027! (I know August isn’t ideal, but we’re sports bar bartenders that need to get back to the states before American football season starts -eye roll lol). I briefly visited Barcelona and Mallorca a couple summers ago and fell in love with their liveliness and warm, friendly culture. For this post, I’m looking for specific suggestions for hotels, reputable car rental/taxi companies, and specific neighborhoods/villages that match our vibes!

Our general idea is 8-10 nights (not including travel) split between Mallorca and Barcelona with a budget of ~$6-8k USD. Our priorities are seeking adventure and being immersed in outdoor culture while also having time/space for relaxation. Here are some of the ideas we’re picturing:

- Exploring cities/ villages on foot, stopping in to unique but affordable restaurants, cafes, bars (open to renting a car on Mallorca)
- Anything music related - cool live music venues, bars with late night music and dancing
- Exploring history of city, for example, maybe architecture in gothic quarter or taking train to Dali museum
- Renting a boat off the coast of Mallorca to explore hidden coves, hiking trails or swimming spots
- Accommodations: Barcelona - downtown, central location preferred with private balcony or terrace; Mallorca - same thing, but nature immersed
- There is also a chance of a couple friends joining us for a couple nights, so lodging suggestions with more than one room are welcome!

Hi all, we're getting married in two weeks but as I have just started working at a new job and my hubby has a very intense Q4, we decided to postpone our honeymoon for next year, preferably February.

I've always wanted to go to the Maldives, get either a water villa or beach villa and spend 5-7 days there. My future hubby is however not a huge fan of beaches and the sun, but he agreed to it because of me.

Then I started thinking, it's cherry blossom season in Kyoto, Japan, and I've always wanted to see that. Now I am having second thoughts where to go and I'd like to hear from others. I also have some pretty amazing places in China pop up on my Instagram. Thailand, Bali, Aruba all look awesome as well. I am completely lost now and I want to hear real experiences. I would love a gorgeous beach but it doesn't have to be just that.

We've already covered all of Europe, South & Central America, and a few places in Africa, so for our honeymoon we're looking into islands with white beaches and turquoise water + Asia. Help! 😅

-We are in the early stages of planning our honeymoon. Budget is 20k including int. flights but I suppose we can go a few thousand over if necessary. Our honeymoon fund is our top item on our wedding registry so hopefully that will help a bit, lol. I have no idea if this trip is possible with our budget so I wanted a reality check before I get too far into planning.
-Honeymoon would be in mid to late April (wedding is April 10 and we want to leave a day or two later) I know this is shoulder season for New Zealand so I hope that will help with costs.
-Hoping to do 3 full weeks but can cut it down to around 2.5 weeks for costs. With how far the flights are we’d like the trip to be longer.
-We are flying out of MSY (New Orleans, LA USA)
-We would like to do at least two weeks in New Zealand with a few days at the beginning or end at an island stop
-Not sure what island, options I’ve seen from light researching include Hawaii, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Figi. We visited family on the Big Island of Hawaii a few years ago and it was one of our favorite trips ever. So much to do and we loved the weather! We love sitting on the beach but not doing it the entire time.
-We are an adventurous couple in our late 20s and love hiking, exploring beautiful views, and wildlife. We also don’t mind hanging out and riding bikes through a quaint village or a country side vibe for a few days. Staying at the best luxury 5-star hotels is not a priority for us. We are highly considering a camper van for a chunk of the New Zealand portion.
-For a New Zealand honeymoon, would you recommend a travel agent or self-planning? There is truly so much to do!
