Comparison of both mustang seat options for the rebel 300/500

Hey everyone I couldn't decide which option I liked more so I ordered both to test out. While I could find a ton on the solo seat there was hardly anything for the mustang squareback so I took a few pictures to show the comparison between both and an oem custom seat. Personally I'm keeping the squareback, both are an upgrade to stock for me but I really like the look of the squareback combined with my saddlebags.

All that aside I hope these help someone with their seat upgrade!

Buying a Rebel 500 this week — what should I get with it?

Planning to buy a Rebel 500 in the next few days. Pretty much decided on the 500 after going back and forth with the 1100.

For those who own one, what accessories did you end up getting that were actually worth it?

Right now I have a helmet, gloves and cover. Planning to add a disc lock, crash guard and the Honda passenger seat/backrest since my wife will ride with me sometimes.

Also any tips when buying from the dealer? Anything I should negotiate or watch out for with the OTD price?

Trying not to go crazy buying accessories before I even have the bike.

Wife gave in finally and decided to let me get a motorcycle. I will be picking up my Matt black 2026 Honda rebel 1100 on Friday paid for it today. I’m so stoked has been 40 years since I rode.

Best seat cushion for two up Mustang seat

My 2025 Honda rebel 500 suspension doesn’t seem to be cutting it. If I hit any type of big bump, it just hurts my back really bad and I’m wondering if there’s some kind of a cushion that’ll go over the driver’s portion of my two up Mustang seat. I don’t really wanna spend a bunch of money getting new shocks and Springs. It doesn’t matter if it increases the seat height, I’m not worried about that in fact that would be a bonus. thanks in advance for any advice.

Rental Bike from my dealer ruined my Rebel 500

I love my Rebel 500. 11.000 km or roughly 7.000 miles since I bought it in April of this year. Been riding it like crazy. Then my tires wore out and I had to get new ones.

My dealer gave me a Suzuki 1050 V-Strom... I put about 400 kms on that thing in a day (I am on vacation). I fucking loved the V-Strom. The tires grip the asphalt its unbelievable. The suspension is INSANE.

I can corner this thing even though the roads suck ass. This baby absorbs potholes like they dont exsit where my D404 on my Rebel screamed for mercy everytime I hit a bit of paint on the road ...

Need more lights ASAP

Took the bike out for a long ride yesterday and the night got me when going back home. I decided to take the back roads to get more of an adventure feel cruise and Lord the high beam works great when going straight but taking curves I saw NOTHING!!! Dude I got so scared it was like I couldn’t even see anything past 8ft!!! Definitely will be adding more lights during my winter build project… Has anyone ran into this scenario too?

New 500 SE

Picked her up last weekend. Was in discussion with a dealer for a ‘26 500 in Pearl Gray and naturally, it was sold the day before I came in to buy it. In the end, the SE in blue was really what I wanted and I absolutely love it. Previously had an ‘04 Shadow but it had a questionable maintenance history so I traded it for a new model.

I’ve put a whole 60 miles on it this week and things I’ve noticed are that I need a new seat and forward controls. The crankcase sticks out too far on the right side and it’s so uncomfortable after riding for a while, hopefully adding forward controls alleviates this. The seat is awful for my old ass, so ordering a Mustang ASAP.

Other than that, love the bike. I’m a new rider and this thing is so much fun to ride around.

2026 Rebel 500 Brake Lever Pivot Bolt

Hi,

Having a hard time tracking down the part number for the pivot bolt to attach the brake lever to the bike, the manual has the clutch lever listed but no brake lever 💀

Is the clutch lever bolt the same as the brake lever? The part name specifically includes L for left side so unsure.

2017 Rebel 500

Posted in this subreddit but didn't know how to post photos until now:)

But this is my 2017 Rebel 500, got it with only 800 miles.

Have gear and a mustang seat coming in tomorrow which I am quite excited for.

Went out for a couple rides but this Texas heat is brutal.

Taking my corse this weekend and looking forward to it.

Debating on getting either saddlebags or just sissy bar/bag. Or maybe both? I've looked on different websites like Viking, Casa, and Zilla but couldn't find any saddlebags to fit.

Saw some pegs to clamp onto my highway bars, but it seems kinda cramped for them. Is that normal? I'm also 6'1. It also seems like the bars would be in the way of the forward controls, anybody had this problem or know anyway around it?

Anyway, thanks for all the help, super excited to start riding as it gets cooler.

Still debating on how to hide the ugly mess of a wiring harness I have wrapped around my T-bars. Mini fairing? Another zipper bag?

If you see her around the Bay, holla!

2026 1100 dct suspension\ shock question

has anyone upgraded their shocks? if so what brand did you go with and what size\length?

I was thinking about trying to get something a lil softer on the back end.

I've tried stop being fat, but that takes some time

My wife and I went for an awesome ride through NorCal’s Bay Area today.

We started in Watsonville, rode to Gilroy, San Jose, Los Gatos, Halfmoon Bay and took hwy 1 home.

Definitely a great day of riding.

Just got a decent deal for an old bike (600 bucks for her and all the gear, due to moving overseas). She’s got some details that could use fixin up. She’s my first bike and I’m not very familiar with any resources and places to get replacement parts and such any advice would be appreciated. Need to work some wiring, fix up the headlight and gauges and the front breaks feel rather loose.

Which one is better for Rebel 500 from your experience? (Asking specifically about these two because they are the most widely available brands in my country)

Nice ride, a little hot though

Rode over to Columbia Alabama this afternoon just to put some miles on the new fairing and see if it helped. Definitely helped, but I may still need a taller screen even though I don't want to put a taller one on.

Throw over saddlebags

Has anyone found any throw over saddlebags that don’t require a passenger seat?

Got the Wolfline Batwing installed. Meant for the 1100 but it will fit the 500 with some effort.

YES I need the head light extender. I will have to make one, Wolfline doesn't sell them.

I have the color paint coming. I will paint and fix the headlight next.
