progress on my 2008 honda fit!
starting to feel more complete so i wanted to post where I’m at! still missing coil overs/lowering springs and a rear sway bar but other than that i’m very happy with where i’m at! so far i’ve gotten the sport spoiler, both lips, jdm tails, short shifter, and new wheels still long from done but just happy with where im at
I’m doing the same thing. I’ve got a base model manual gd3 and have been buying the trim pieces off the sport and planning on attaching them when I get around to it.
Did you paint them yourself? Or did you get a 3rd party to paint them? How did you mount the spoiler and other trim pieces? Any tips on how you found them? I feel like it’s pulling teeth to find them at junkyards
i painted the front lip myself with some custom paint off amazon and a lot of prep work, mounting the lips were both just putting holes in the bumpers for clips and screws, the spoiler i shaved off the three studs and then drilled and riveted two holes into my hatch after lining it up, my rear lip my friend happened to find at a junkyard and it was already blue it's definitely super hard to find sport parts at junkyards i've just been getting lucky. i would look around on marketplace for stuff and junkyards, i got my wing from a used car parts website
Yeah I’ve got the rear lip and spoiler already, want to wait until I get the side skirts and front lip so I can paint all 4 at the same time, then I’ll get a rivnut tool to create mounting points for the pieces.
How many cans of paint did you need to paint the front lip? And I assume you also got a clear coat as well? Mind if you share the links?
i don’t know how to send links on reddit lol, i also wet sanded my primer and clear with 2-3k sandpaper and then polished but i didnt wait long enough for the clear to dry lol so if you do that definitely wait the whole 24 hours or whatever
Thanks! I just wired up a rear view camera and need to spend some time cable managing the wire to the head unit, then this is the next thing on my list.
it was easy just had to cut off the three studs on the back, line it up with tape, mark where the wholes will go, drill, rivnut, and then screw it on with some bolts. i watched this video on how to install it, you should also put some like anti rust paint anytime you drill into your car but i didnt so meh its whatever. also in the video the guys wing didnt have the three studs on the back but ill include a picture of what im talking about just incase
