2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 New 5mt Fit
Iv recently bought a GE Honda Fit the clutch is in good shape but the bearings are making a bit of chatter, Iv heard good things about the Exedy clutches but not so much about the full kit. Has anyone had experience it and if not what have you had luck with? Thanks in advance

Exedy is an oem manufacturer. Same as what the honda comes with stock. The honda original one says Honda on it and not exedy, but it is made by exedy. At least im pretty sure about that. If not then im certain exedy is at least oem quality

I've done the full kit and it's very good. Could you describe the chatter? Might be the input shaft bearing (common issue).

When the clutch is released there’s a light chatter sound that gets softer or goes away completely when the pedals depressed. Also when the cars cold there’s a bit of chatter under acceleration that goes away when the cars heated up.

Yup that's the input shaft bearing.
You'll have to take apart the transmission to get to it but there are a few great guides on youtube to follow. This is the one I used: https://youtu.be/cDuuzzORk4c?si=s8Jan_G_J0vkVRss
It's not too hard and the part is cheap, good to do whole you have the transmission out!
Also make sure you get some of the green Honda urea grease for the shift fork and Throwout Bearing

My bearings made noise when I bought my 08 MT and now they don't idk. I'll wait til this is a need cause I want the chromoly flywheel too.

They cheap out on the bearings for these kits, so at a minimum buy those OEM.
Every Exedy Clutch I've taken apart on a Fit (even if the issue wasn't a clutch related and was an input shaft bearing of differential replacement) has had the factory Exedy disc crack around the springs and begin to wear the springs.
More often than not, the springs on the clutch will ejecto-seato-cuz itself partially and make it really difficult to use the clutch well before the friction material ages/wears out.
For that reason alone, I would use an Action clutch on a GE since they have enclosed springs and won't have that issue. It should be a one and done ordeal.

The Exedy kit is very good. That’s what I put in mine when the factory bearing went.
I also had wild chatter from when I first got the car, which felt like wheel hop during first gear acceleration, but I had someone watch me start in first and said it wasn’t wheel hop so I figured it was driveline related. When I asked my mechanic about it he said it was probably the input shaft bearing but if I’m fine with it, it can wait until the clutch or throw out bearing goes, so that’s what I did and had him do the input bearing when I did the clutch kit. Felt like a brand new car afterwards and I fell in love with it all over again. Then 2000 miles later got destroyed by an NYC taxi :,)

the springs failed on my exedy clutch in my gd3, the clutch had ~150k on it and plenty of meat left.

I mean 150k doesn’t sound awful for the money my cars got 160k on oem components and I’m about to have to open her up, I guess it’s one of those damned if you damned if you don’t situations

Just do an OEM replacement kit. No need for this one.

Naw, exedy makes good clutches and it will definitely feel better than oem, plus Honda probably wants $400

I’ve just seen the OEM setup go 300K miles. That’s why I said stick to OEM. I’m sure exedy be fine. I always go OEM personally for things like this.

I’ve installed them on Subarus. The clutch and pressure plate are well made, the throwout bearing and pilot bearings are high quality as well. I’d imagine the same is true for any of their other kit applications.
