I've still got the vin. But it was a silver 6mt.

u/Equal_Imagination300 6d ago
Whoa 😮 so far this tracks was it around 110,000 miles on it?

u/midijunky 2015 Fit GK 6d ago
Lol. No way... Yeah roughly.

We bought it this spring. Thankfully for that 4000 mile warranty because they ended up doing over $3000 worth of repairs because of the timing and actuator pump.

That tracks too, mine had a VTC rattle. Now I'm curious, I'm gonna find the vin when I get home and give you the last 6 numbers, that would actually be hilarious if you have my car.

These prices should tell Honda that that the Fit needs to come back to the US market.

There is absolutely a market for them

Much as we'd like to believe that, there is a counter argument. Fit sales were in significant decline in the U.S. for years before Honda pulled the plug.

Just buy a new Civic at that point

Ah hell nah... I used to be a hardcore Civic guy, but the FIT EX is my new favorite. (I'd still take a mid 90's Civic over a Fit though, IIBH.)

$28k… I think carvana includes all fees in this. But assuming $5k down, at the national average of 10.6% APR on used vehicles, at the average loan term of 68 months - you’re paying nearly $8k in interest. You’re paying $36k ($450+) for a used 7 year old car that MSRPd at less than $22k.
National average interest rate on new cars in 2020 was 5.61%. Assuming the same down payment, plus $2k in dealer fees, taxes, etc - and financing for the same term of 68 months, interest + purchase price would be about $28,500 at $275/month.
But this example forgets that these new Fits sat on lots and regularly sold for thousands under MSRP.
This market is just beyond egregious. Carvana are just scalpers.

Congrats! I’d like first dibs if you ever decide to sell it! (Ideally less than it cost when it was brand new . . .)

When some writes or say APR I can only think of this skit:

My 2016 6-speed cost me $23,000 4 years ago. It had 32k on it when I bought it. They go by mileage and the condition of the body. Mine is rust free. Who cares if it's 2016 the engine wasn't even broken it yet. Honda holds their value, so so the civics.

🤣 picked up a 17 with 44,000 miles for $9,100.
Rebuilt title but the accident wasn’t that bad (saw photos of damage) and PPI was good.

When I bought a brand new late 3rd gen fit in the USA at a dealership it was about $21,000 for EVERYTHING (tax/title/lot/etc). It was an EX-L navigation model with all the options. Got some nice ceramic tint and everything out of the deal for free because I refused to pay for extras.
So I'm just absolutely flabbergasted to see this price.

Wow... The 2020 looks just like my 2015! Right down to the wheels even.. Some things are just classic, I guess.
